The feast tonight is sure to be interesting. The prince will be there, obviously, and I have it on good sources that the king will also make an appearance.

In fact, I believe tonight’s festivities are to welcome a neighbouring realm’s prince and several dignitaries.

It will be quite interesting to witness these dynamics. The prince has asked me not to attend so as not to offend the visitors, but what harm is there in eavesdropping?

Chapter one: First memories

A constant tone, a C-sharp in specific, woke him up. His eyes fluttered to gain focus. People in blue hovered over him; they were talking to him but he couldn’t hear over that annoying persistent tone. Where was he? His back was against something, he was laying down… and moving… moving fast. The lights on the ceiling zapped over his head like lighting, while the people stared, screamed? At him? What were they saying? If that sound could have hushed, where was that tone coming from, who was playing it?

He turned, trying to sit up but the pain shot through his body like an electric shock. He screamed but couldn’t hear his own voice. Hands immediately pinned him down and his eyes closed, tuning out the sound, wanting to sleep.

“...Sir… sir… Stay with me!”

He grunted but meant to say “Where am I?”
