We had a great weekend at Agility! TWO QQ's this weekend!! YAY! That puts us at QQ #5 of 20! Django was a bit slow this weekend but was a great listener. Well, except at our FAST run... which is a hilarious bonus video at the end. Make sure to watch this one to the end... ;)
Agility video from the weekend! Be prepared for the horribly awful Standard run second in the video... We started off a little haphazard with a flubbed Standard run, but it must've gotten the crazies out of Django's system as the rest of the weekend was 4 for 4 Q's! On Sunday we got our second ever QQ, AND got the final Q needed for our MXJ title!! Wowza! So proud of my boy! Some fun and great courses this weekend, had a blast!
Our 6 runs over two days of the Colorado Kennel Club AKC trial! We got our first Masters Double Q! Whoo! Poor pup was pretty tired on the second day; our JWW run was literally back to back with FAST (I even had to move us to the bottom of the JWW list so we had time to run FAST and get over to the JWW ring!). We've never run two back to back before and judging by how slow he was in the second run I think we should try to avoid it in the future haha. He was definitely slower the second day. But he ran great and we almost got another QQ but he got distracted by the next ring in Standard and missed his weave entrance! Gah. Oh well! We had a great time!

Agility video from this weekend! Missed recording 1 run because my bf was away (It was a NQ though because Django knocked over the last jump, d'oh!). I'm really proud of how both Django and I are coming along :) Watching this video I can see my handling skills have greatly improved even from last year (and let's not even talk about when I was just starting out!). Django's speed has picked up since the Summer and my motions seem much more comfortable and fluid. We're getting somewhere! QQ #13 and 359 points so far!
Django’s agility videos from this last weekend, and his subsequent ribbon photo :) We are now in Masters class in both Standard and JWW! Whoo! What an accomplishment, I’m so proud! I would absolutely love to get Django’s MACH. It’s definitely our highest goal (I half-joke that when Django gets his MACH, he can retire from Agility lol).
I didn’t get a video of the last run but it was an NQ anyway (knocked bar and wrong side of tunnel). Twice this weekend Django nearly or did barely go past the line of an obstacle, but then take it anyway and the judge was being very generous and didn’t call it on either. Very fun courses and I enjoyed how the courses had different challenges each day! What a great weekend :) Very proud of my boy, and humbled as always knowing how much better I need to be at handling!
Agility Video from this weekend! Two days, 3 runs a day; 4 Q's, 3 placement ribbons, and one new Title!
Here we have the good, the bad, and the ugly! Haha. It’s still emberassing to share our flops with everyone but it’s also important to share the bad along with the good, I think.
First day was almost a wash but he scraped by with a Q in Novice FAST. The second day was much better and we got 3 for 3 in Q's; two 3rd places and one 1st place! He also got his Novice FAST title!
A few of the runs he was slowing up because it was the end of the day and it was VERY warm. I could tell how hot and tired he was before and after our runs, but he still kept going and I'm proud of him for that <3
Video of our Agility trial yesterday! We FINALLY got our first Q's in Excellent!! Double Q day, first Q's since February I am so thrilled! Django did so well! The courses were much less technical than many Master/Excellent courses but had more straights and speed sections. This was bad for fast dogs but for Django and I it was perfect :) I really enjoyed having something different than the “same old same old”!
