A fellow #food & #aglawyer sent me a link to a @ted about the discipline of finishing. 🎥 This #tedtalk spoke on the traits that inspire people like Warren Buffett to "bet on you" -- 1️⃣ intelligence, 2️⃣ energy, and (most importantly) 3️⃣integrity. The b-school grad broke down the 3 traits but this is what really resonated with me: Be the type of person you would "bet on" in life. Be true to yourself and honest to others. Don't take on more than you can handle. Success is a series of good decisions and failure is never just one mistake. Be present in the moment. Focus on the challenge right before you. Break down big goals with smaller goals. Keep a diary. Strive for excellent in the small things. But first, lemme take a #bookselfie. 📖 I'm a contributing author to "The Second Report on the State of the World's Animal Generic Resources for Food and Agriculture" on Part 3, Section F re "Legal and Policy Frameworks published by @unfao . 💁🏼 After my 1L year in #lawschool, I was a volunteer for the @unitednations Food & Agriculture Organization in #Rome #Italy and then stayed on as a paid consultant during my second year at @pacelawschool to help write the first edition of this book. 🤓 I get a lot of emails from folks who want to be a #food and #aglawyer - I always recommend to students to not be afraid to think outside the box (and the United States!) when getting experiences in #foodlaw & #aglaw. FAO is headquartered in #Roma but there are regional offices around the globe and a (very) small liason office here in #nyc. I worked for its animal production unit but there is also a legal division for #lawyers. There are also other UN organizations that do some work with #agriculture and the environment including @undp & @unep . Although the UN system is filled with bureaucratic probs, I've always been a fan of countries working together for common goals ...like #foodsecurity. (at Upper West Side)
