Whereas I think I understand where you're coming from? I think you're a bit off, dysphoria is part of being trans, be it transwoman, transman, genderfluid, etc. The choice is in coming out as that, not "choosing to be it" whether you are or are not trans isn't a choice, whether you come out to your friends and family is. Whether that's what you're trying to say or not isn't something I know, but that's how I see it
the reason that i know being trans is a choice is because i, and a lot of my friends, experience sex dysphoria and are not trans. the existence of detransitioned and people with a history of dis-identification with being a man/woman proves that being trans is the choice. you don’t choose dysphoria, you absolutely do actively and deliberately choose to identify as trans and seek medical treatment for dysphoria.
the fact that you think being trans is the only option or choice for dysphoric people speaks to a failure of education about dysphoria and options of treatment of dysphoria that don’t require hormones, surgery, or disidentifying from being a man or a woman.
