Mag is actually so interesting. This guy gives a statement saying that he sees this man stealing books, and this man is seven feet tall and named Fiddle Bacher. The guy, named Harold Gerard, is the only one that sees him. Whenever a book is stolen, Harold feels dizzy and passes out. The book is still there when he wakes up, but Harold can’t read it anymore.

And then Jon says “well actually theres no record of a Fiddle Bacher and the books are still there when he wakes up, even if all the pages have the image of a violin drawn on in a special ink only visible under uv light. Martin figured this out, doing absolutely nothing worthwhile as usual. I hate my fucking job. End of recording” LIKE HELLO????

Yk its sad that jon is losing his humanity blah blah but i rlly enjoy helens perspective and opinion on all this. Like maybe he *would* be happier if he accepted that taking statements without the speakers permission. Dragging it out of them and accepting his new nature. Its an interesting contradiction, bc if you think about it from a more common perspective, can you deny a vampire the blood he needs to survive if he cannot get it any other way? Sure, he could get it from blood drives, but blood drives only last so long. Same as the pre-written statements. Can his colleagues really expect him to starve once all other alternatives run out?
