The Home - Cagayan de Oro
Cagayan de Oro City has been my home for more than 5 years already. Though I did not grow up here, Cagayan de Oro is an open book that I know so much about.
I consider CDO as a place of opportunities for it is where I started growing into an improved entity. Like a cocoon spreading its wings to be a full butterfly, I started sprouting my wings in this city. In year 2010, I enrolled myself at Mindanao University of Science and Technology which is basically located in the heart of CDO. Four years of mind-blowing learning and burning candles, I graduated and eventually, installed a career in this city.
I am a witness to developments and transitions the city has engaged. CDO five years ago and CDO now are very much different already. It is a city that blossoms, blooms and in boom. Physically, it has become a home for a number of high-end buildings, proof on a number of investors trusting their businesses in the hands of the City of Golden Friendship . Few of the newest buildings are Puregold, Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Red Planet Hotel, and Centrio Ayala Mall where I have been visiting for almost everyday, being just distance away from our office.
These new places just tell that CDO has a lot more to offer. Yes, it is famous comes to white water rafting, mountain-climbing specifically at Mapawa, beaches and as a gateway to the thrill-filled Dahilayan Adventures Park, but with all these investments poured, I can say lifestyle is becoming richer here.
However, though a very busy one, CDO can still offer rich greeneries through nature-loving resorts. Most of it offer best accommodations if a soul wants to hide from stressful work. Unbelievable, these are just located inside the metropolis.
I am so thankful that I stayed here in Cagayan de Oro a quite while for I was able to know more about it. I have been its loyal visitor when I was younger and now, I am one of its children, the more I am responsible to learn more about it. Sad to say though, that it is a big irony to some people, they could leave their place and know less of it. For me, knowing about this city is gaining the right to proudly share its stories with other people in other places that I will be visiting soon. Knowing about CDO is being capable to end a long description with, “That is Cagayan de Oro, my home.”
And yes. That is Cagayan de Oro, my home.
