hello! been getting into arcade rhythm games recently (my current favorites are wacca and chunithm) and remembered your ask responses about them. there really are some insane beatmaps and layouts out there... if you were to assign enstars characters your favorite rhythm games, which of them do you think would enjoy them the most? i can't help but imagine rinniki taking on stepmania/notitg in couples mode, but i think 2wink would probably do the best at it

i'm so happy to hear the food i draw looks good!! while drawing i usually only ever have water/coffee/tea at my side because i am insatiable and will inhale the food without noticing if i'm multitasking... and i'm learning from the chef running my lunch place (absolutely amazing guy) to respect my food not only while cooking but also while eating, and focus on the details. when i draw food i mostly do so from memory since i cook a lot and it's easy to put it together on paper with first hand experience!! :3 on drawing food, i'm very inspired by the way wendy macnaughton does so, overall she's a fantastic illustrator. look how she draws sauces and freaking feta cheese and makes it look so crumbly and tasty and like feta:
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
the closest thing to an answer i have is how people interpret the relationship between double face; specifically this drawing, because i personally don't view their relationship at all like that of a parent-child - if anything i feel like the rest of crazy:b babies kohaku a lot more than madara does. madara treats kohaku more like an equal (t ex he calls him kohaku-san!! compare this to rinne and niki's kohaku-chan) while also keeping him at an arm's length in that really classic martyr madara way. which is why it's all the more gutwrenching when madara disbands double face; kohaku loses that very valuable and important partnership and madara self sabotages. i could go on... double face forever. but honestly i also think it's kind of on me for using that caption:D #regret
how is the reaper shu au going? been thinking about it a little recently
I would love to hear your thoughts because I am still trying to claw my way out of fucking writers block and suffering. I think the vague plans I had for it were that Madara and Shu were going to continue running into each other in Maguro's hospital room, but it's very clear that Shu is checking in on the wrong kid and Madara knows that he's the one who is going to die (has been giving up his life force in exchange for Maguro's to be extended) but Shu hasn't realized that things have changed (didn't realize that it was possible to completely overcome death in that way through the force of others love for you) but there is a slow realization that the relationship between Maguro and Madara is much more strained and complicated as they got older than it was when Shu first met them both as children. I'm almost tempted to say that Kanata did actually have some power and was able to make Maguro better but in the process it sucked the life out of Madara, the person who asked for the miracle in the first place and he's trying to hide it and distance himself from his family because if they knew then it's so fucking over. Not that it isn't already since he still came to the conclusion that God in the way they know it isn't real (why would a supposedly benevolent God want to take someone's life in exchange for another). Well anyway.

Ghost Rinne
So if you've talked to me like. At all you know i just adoreeeeeee ghosts and ghost stories they're my favorite okay so obviously ghost Rinne is such a concept to me. I've talked about him being stuck trying to protect Niki, keep him from making whatever mistakes that originally led to their mutual deaths (I'm still kinda in between what I want that to be but it's probably just gonna be a car accident while they're doing something idol related.). It's like an evil fucked up time loop that lasts years and Rinne is doomed to die in every universe and if he isn't then Niki dies and neither of these are exactly great outcomes. His ghost haunts Niki before he even meets him and maybe if he meets ghost Rinne he'll avoid becoming an idol but he'll never meet the Rinne in this loop. It's convoluted and maybe not really a ghost story but also i need to gnaw on them so so bad.
2. Ink Blood Sister Scribe AU
So since I finished the book since I wrote the original drabble I knowwwwwww that other scribes weren't really a thing until one of the MCs shows up but listen we're not going for super duper canon to the book here Rinne is a scribe his blood can make magic and he had to run away from his hometown to protect them (though they did tell him what he could do and it's something that used to be common in their bloodline as leaders of the village that died out one day for unknown reasons that r revealed in the book.) He ends up with Niki per usual and they end up on the run after the first year where Rinne realizes someone is watching them and trying to chase them down. They spend a year somewhere and then leave on a specific day and go somewhere else. I think when the events of the book end where everything is undone and scribes can actually be born again it takes a while for him to find out from his family and village because suddenly Hiiro can do it too and Rinne slowly loses the feeling that people are watching him. He's been using his magic to write spells to help people pretty much the whole time and Niki helped with the herbal blends to mix into the ink to make the spells more potent so they're still practically inseparable but now they don't have to worry about someone finding them anymore and now Rinne is dying from blood loss since there's nothing stopping him from making spells for everyone to help them out /j. HiMERU and Kohaku definitely fit in here somewhere I think they're mailing spells back to them during the initial period of being on the run all the time to help out with x y z job they have. Probably weird assassin stuff who knows.
3. Tatsukanas in the Post Apocalypse AU
So wrt the fic I posted back in January and I know I told u this on discord already but for everyone else reading here the plan was bc I am a slut for fantasy I did have to include a little bit in this with Tattsun but. After the initial encounter with Tatsumi and Kaname decides to stay with him, Kaname gets bitten and Tatsumi is able to heal him with some magic in the church but it ties Kaname to the church specifically so if he leaves then the disease just. speeds up and will kill him. So Kaname is effectively church bound and can't leave but he's okay for now? At least if his brother is looking for him there's way less possibility that they'll miss each other by going through the same place at slightly different times but oops!! His brother is going to blame Tatsumi for everything that happened to Kaname (even if Kaname insists that's not the case and he would be so much worse off if Tatsumi hadn't taken him in.). The other Alkaloid members are also staying in the church and while Kaname is definitely a lot for any of them to deal with, Mayoi ends up spending the most time with him as protector when the others are out getting food/supplies/etc. I personally think Kaname would end up learning how to sew and cook and such, things he can do in the church that are still useful to everyone else but that's neither here nor there.

Hello hi! Dw about seeming random, I'm certainly not complaining, I love talking about myself/my work. Thank you for liking capman reki! I'm really proud of it! And someone actually sent an ask about Rinne's partner a few days ago which is in my drafts now, I have to go post that
Anyway system update is, regretfully, on pause while I 1) recover from capman reki au 2) try to read more enstars stories to understand the characters enough to write them (just because it's Aira centric doesn't mean I wanna totally mischaracterize someone's fave) and 3) devour some romance/fantasy in an effort to remember how to actually write romance/fantasy. Not to say I'm not thinking about it and don't have ideas, I just haven't written anything especially concrete for it.
[scratches head] I guess I can talk a little bit about Rinne tho since I meant to talk about what he's doing anyway. There is a tidbit of a thing I did the other day:
It’s not like Rinne likes everything he’s done and will do. Messing with the heads of those high and mighty mages is fun, but the rest is necessary evil. He definitely never wanted to kill kids, especially not kids his brother likes, but he doesn’t have time to deal with regrets—or, he does, but there’s only so much he can waste. He has a goal and he’s already decided to see it through to the end, no matter what it takes. He's come too far. He’ll bear with the consequences after.

Rinne, Rinne, Rinne. Surprising absolutely no one, his goal as the villain is to destroy society completely and absolutely. Because what else would he do honestly. Translating idols -> mages, you can expect his backstory to be basically the same, except now with twice the magic and murder! (Isn't it so weird that enstars is an idol game but I have to say that this AU comes with more magic and murder than usual?) And of course Crazy:B is also with him. All of them have ~secret identities~ because I need them to move around without drawing suspicion as The Guys Who Tried To Murder Trickstar Last Week (or whatever it is they do in their first villain appearance idk).
I'm not sure what else I can say about him. Uhhh oh his super special exclusive magic is called Roulette because I'm unoriginal like that, he gets a new special magic every time he uses it but naturally he has no control over what it is. Sometimes it's awesome. Mostly it's stupid shit. He and Niki have argued extensively over whether the food ingredient identification magic is cool or not.
