Intro

Ok new pinned post!

Hi, welcome, you can call me by literally any name that you can glean from this blog, but most people just call me Dusk or Ink (she/they). For those of you on PC, do not be alarmed, you did not accidentally end up on AO3 when you clicked on my page lol. (Theme credit to my good friend @starlightthemes)

My most prominent fandoms are in anime/manga, webnovels, and games. This is mostly reblogs but I also talk a lot, and I write sometimes! You can see all my writing in #anya tries to write, but full completed fics can only be viewed with an account on my AO3. I'll also post "drabbles", previews of my wips, and behind the scenes commentary of my fics on here, and occasionally I'll ramble about ideas/aus that I may or may not do anything with.

My askbox is open, so feel free to ask me about stuff! I may not answer quickly or at all, but in general I do love to chat (especially about my fics).

A couple years ago I accidentally deleted my original blogs so sometimes if I find a post I made on those, I'll reblog them with the tag #from the other. My previous blog names are on my about page. I also have a ko-fi if you'd like to support your local broke writers.

at some point during high school i drew a centaur girl with large breasts because i wanted to draw a character that looked like me, and my biofamily got real upset about it. "why are they so large" because mine are that large. "wouldn't that make it hard for her to run" interesting that you think that but keep trying to make me run. "don't draw things like this, it's morally bad" ok i and my apparently inherently pornographic body will just be over here trying to avoid being looked at

this is not to say porn is bad, tbc. i just wasn't a fan as a teenager of being treated like it was impossible to look at bodies like mine non-sexually. frankly i'm not a fan of it now either lmao. i keep kind of thinking about how so many female protagonists are canonically flat or small-chested girls/women who textually wish they had larger breasts, but i can't remember the last time i encountered a protagonist with large breasts where that fact wasn't meant to be sexual. what is up with that dynamic and how do i destroy it

it's like... in order to be accepted as a woman, the character has to desire the idealized form of The Perfect Woman (or if she's a #feminist, reject and detest that same idealized form, but the focus on it is often still there). but in order to be a non-pornographic protagonist, she can't attain it. the moment you have a large enough chest you don't really get to be a normal character anymore, you have to go to sex world. idk. probably someone better read than me has written some sort of papers on this. idk what search terms to use though

oldest brother gets engaged, one year later Theo has a crush on her

4 years later oldest brother dies. second brother is now engaged to oldest brother's former fiancee, who Theo still likes

by this point he has resigned himself to this

5 years later brother and fiancee get into an argument which seems like it may even break the engagement. Theo tries not to be too hopeful bc he does care about both of them and knows they would prefer to be engaged to each other

girl he likes is now a wanted criminal

one of Theo's best friends who is also a girl admits to being in love with the girl he likes who, again, is currently a wanted criminal

the girl he likes tries to for real kill his friend

Y'all are making me feel bad because Theo doesn't even have that much narrative importance. If there's like a Main Guy that'd be Aleksey followed by Desiré and Enea and then Theo's somewhere below them (and that's without taking the ladies into account)

@feropariente Yeah the oldest brother is a very recent development so this is the first I'm mentioning him! He and Euthalia got along fine but it wasn't particularly impactful for either of them. I haven't given him a name yet oops

@fauxsoleils Very happy to have another person on board! Oldest brother barely talked to Theo when he was alive so he had no clue. It took Desiré a long while but yeah he knows and Theo doesn't know he knows. He never said anything because it seemed like it would do more harm than good + he was too afraid of what would happen if he didn't marry Euthalia.

(Conversely, Theo has spent the past six or seven years thinking Euthalia's feelings for Desiré were romantic. They are not.

...He's really quite smart most of the time, I promise)
