I think it’s really interesting how Chuuya and Atsushi are forced up against Dazai and Akutagawa in the DOA arc.
Chuuya’s pretending to be a vampire and Dazai tries to goad him into punching him and he almost does when Fyodor stops him. Knowing that if Chuuya did the vampire ability would be nullified and snap him out of it.
And so instead Chuuya shoots a bullet aimed at Dazai’s head using his ability which of course Dazai nullifies before it can hit him.
While Atsushi is fighting actual vampire Akutagawa and pauses before his fist can connect with Akutagawa’s head. Having realised that Rashomon isn’t protecting him from Atsushi’s attacks. Forcing Atsushi to rely on his words instead to try and snap Akutagawa out of it.
And it being those same words that later allow Akutagawa to regain his memories and remember who he is. With Chuuya’s actions being what allows Dazai to realise that he’s not actually a vampire.
Also Chuuya proceeds to shoot Dazai 3 more times after “killing” him and after Akutagawa captures Atsushi he proceeds to rip off 3 of his limbs.
