Imagining the changing of seasons in Lumiose, snow beginning to fall.
Having lived in Hoenn for the last 10 years, seasonal changes are things that Terra doesn't account for. All she knows is that it's beautiful, cold, and she gets to make a snowmon or 2. Maybe Team MZ will even indulge her in a snowball fight.
Beau, who's on the brink of asking her out but not quite there yet, sends her a text about the importance of a proper winter clothing and appropriate winter footwear if she wants to continue running about the city. She checks it but quickly dismisses it; Beau's often well prepared but sometimes overly so, she'll be fine, It's just a little snow!
She's still waiting to get matched with her next opponent in the Z-A Royale, so it's mainly just cafe hopping, sightseeing, and souvenir shopping as her stay in Lumiose is ending in roughly 2 months.
She's mostly indoors and surrounded by tall buildings so the cold hasn't quite gotten to her yet, but once night falls and she's raring to go in the Z-A Royale, she's going to realize how woefully unprepared she is for the night time winds.
She manages to snag some victories but decides to call it quits for the night since she can't battle without shivering. The snow and ice on the ground also make it difficult for her to quickly run back to Hotel Z, a lesson she learned the hard way earlier in the evening when she slipped and fell face first onto the pavement.
Luckily for her, though, a familiar face waits outside the gates of the Battle Zones with a shit eating smirk on his face and wearing a thick winter coat and scarf to match.
"Looks like a certain Hoennian didn't check her phone today."
"No, no, I saw your message, just thought you were being an egghead about it"
"And?"
"...You were right... I'm an idiot, are you happy now? Can we move this along, I'm kinda in a hurry to get back to the Hotel. I'm freezing over here!"
Beau lets out a sigh, and begins taking off his winter coat. Before she can protest, it's already around her shoulders, and with a light tug, their faces are just inches from each other.
"I was thinking...how about you join me for dinner instead? There's a restaurant not far from here that has an excellent seasonal menu."
His voice was almost a whisper, and though he spoke steadily, it lacked the smugness or self-confidence that typically accompanies his words. Was he... nervous?
There was something different with his whole demeanor as well, his eyes seemed softer, his smirk almost looked like a proper smile, and was he ...blushing? Nah! Probably just the cold winter air.
She likes him, she has for a while, and he's invited her to eat on numerous occasions. But this is different somehow, and now with him so close to her like this... anyone else seeing this from afar would think they were already a couple.
There's so many things she wishes she could say to him, and they have so little time left, but all she manages is,
"I'd love to."
And for now, that's good enough for the both of them.
