And that is Awful Hospital. It is very creepy in the best and worse way. No idea what happened with the baby but we know that something was wrong with her son. And this hospital is just this perfect balance of absurd and terrifying. The bright and creative colors mixed with the surreal and disturbing images.
The main character is sassy and no nonsense, dedicated to her son. I respect that.
The comic itself is obviously based on those Command/Point&Click games that were the basis of Homestuck. Formatted differently obviously with the setting being this mystery hospital and just trying to survive. But it is nice to see how the same thing can inspire so many other things.
On my Fibonacci Scale of 1 to 21: this gets a 3. It isn’t bad. Like I said it has a delightfully unsettling feel to it and the creepy humor is fun. But it is also a bit of a slow start. It is weird and creepy, but nothing has really happened yet. So all that it is pulling on me is just aesthetics alone, nothing really plot related. I mean, you can argue the same for Homestuck in the beginning too, but there was still some early action with the cake battle and I knew going in that shit was going to go down eventually. It might change if I continue on, but for Newvember it is good enough.
