When Christine was little she actually stole her father’s rosin in a mischievous way to make him ‘not be able to play the violin’ and spend time with her and saved it ever since considering her father had many more  and when he died and went with Madame Giry to live with her , the rosin was in her pocket unknowingly and when she dug her hand in her pocket and found it she held it tightly to her chest and wept herself to sleep : )
