How you all doing .......
😊Hey,
Hope that you are all well and have been able to enjoy the beautiful weather that we have been having.
Since I last blogged , we have had Bobbi for over a year and she now has lots of beautiful fur and has firmly made her mark in the house
I turned 44,
sprouted more grey hair and children have returned to school – How have you all been ?
As the world slowly starts to get back to something like normal – I know that we still have a way to go but hopefully we are heading in the right direction.
I cannot wait until I am able see my Mum & Nan and have a cuppa and good gossip 😊 I know that it will not be for a few more months but it will happen, and I will cherish every moment.
We are hoping to get Gavin’s mum down for a visit in the next few weeks and I cannot explain how excited Hugh & Abigail are to see her – Video calls are just not enough.
Abigail is keeping us on our toes and when you add hormones into the AHC & Seizures it has definitely been a roller-coaster.
We have have been so incredibly lucky during the last year while under extreme pressure LAS kept Abigail safe and even supported keeping us at home by adding the first medicine usually administered at hospital via IV to Abigail’s home medical plan. Our front room has resembled resus on several occasions, anyone looking through the window seeing IV’s, ambi bags etc would have got a shock , but it’s all the norm for Team Mallon 😊
We truly can’t thank the paramedics, ambulance staff and the 999 call handlers enough.
On a funny side note, if I could have videoed Gavin’s face the first time he was asked by the 999 call handler if Abigail was or could have been pregnant in the last 4 weeks – you’ve been framed would have given me £250, to say that he was shocked / horrified that someone was asking this about his baby.
Dads & their daughter’s 😂 saying that I was totally shocked when I was asked the first time.
We are still in the middle of a medicine change, hopefully it will be completed in the next few months 🤞 and Abigail will start to settle a little more.
We did manage to make some great memories during lock-down, one of my favorites being “ Glasthomebury” 😊 we have always tried to give Abigail & Hugh as many fun experiences we can, we have to adapt to make them “;Abigail “ friendly sometimes but we always have fun.
The Italian Job on the projector screen in the garden with Hugh & Gavin, ice cold beers for Gavin & I and J20′s for Hugh comes a very close second.
To a certain degree , lock down was just like a extended AHC episode for us. We were extremely lucky to have had brilliant friends & neighbors who made sure that we had enough shopping, our local chemist making sure that Abigail’s ,medicines were delivered and even QE Hospital dropping hospital only medicines on one occasion.
The pandemic has shown me that there are still good people in the world.
I mentioned on my social media last week my upset and shock at how many nasty & hurtful comments I had seen directed at each other because of differing opinions. Please remember when talking, whether in person or on social media that everyone is allowed their own views & opinions (even friends)
Everyone is always talking about mental health & kindness- please be kind to each other
Sending hugs to you all.
Catch up with you all soon – Em x – AHCUKmummy
