I love that E. W. Hornung created Raffles and Bunny as a direct opposite of Holmes and Watson in a criminal/detective and their biographer partner, kind of way. But he also managed to create the direct opposite to Holmes and Watson's kind of repressed, kind of cautiously hidden homosexuality by having Bunny be so open about his love for Raffles in his writing, saying things like, and I quote, "It was Raffles I loved. Not the dark life we led together, [...] it was the man himself [...]"
