The last of his matches, nicked from corner store a few miles outside of no where, cracked in half with defeat, splintering to his feet, a cold cigarette in hand. Abel sighed, shit, he supposed in a better world he would’ve never picked up such a habit, that he would’ve been a responsible young man, it had never been so kind. After all, in this temperment the shivering cold gave further reason for the tremours in his fingers.

“Oi,” he whistled to the closest figure, raising the cigarette to his lips, “You got a light?”
