I’m drawing up a few references for artfight so here’s Ahkoolah, one of my Clan Leaders’ daughters.

Flippant, laid-back and confident, she doesn't act much like royalty, much preferring to spar with anyone who's willing or freerunning across city rooftops. After the civil war starts, she follows her father Yastrebok and rebels against her mother, Niet. 

As the youngest of the two children, she’s not an heir, although she’s considered by many to be a better candidate to the throne than her sister.

it’s mother day in england so i drew Niet and her two daughters since she’s my progen and main character so i should definitely draw her more than i do!!

their mothers day gift to her was a jar of mustard

Vergi wears a useless and stupid monocle because his father does too, and by imitating his father as much as he can Vergi thinks he will get the acceptance he has craved for from him for his entire life. (for the OC fact swap)

Dads!!

She doesn’t look it, but Ahkoolah is actually very talented when it comes to Water magic. She doesn’t care about magic at all though.

She learned magic because she’s mute, and Yastrebok is blind in his light-based eyes, leaving him with only one heat vision eye. Communication is difficult for them, so she learned to heat water with great prescision to make letters. It’s tiring and hard to do though, so she usually writes out what she wants to say on paper and then heats the water molecules in the ink so he can see.

Both of these are the best she can do, but even then it makes for stunted conversations. She knows her dad loves her, but she wants to be closer to him.

trivia: Niet has a very strict no-slamming-doors-in-this-house policy, so when they would argue as children, Ricin and Ahkoolah would purposely slam doors and run in the hopes of getting the other in trouble.

The sign Ahkoolah uses for her name is to point your hands like a triangle and then shake them gently. It’s based off the BSL sign for “mountain” but a simpler, smaller version.

She uses this sign for her name based off her dad’s nickname for her, which was his Little Mountain, because she was “so beautiful, yet so silent”. It was a nickname she was given before they learned she was mute and not just quiet, but she takes no offence to it and thinks it’s cute.
