Idk if this has been discussed here before but the fact that EXP locked pokemon gain EXP in the daycare as a "consequence" of using the daycare drives me up the fucking wall.
Like, it's information that as far as I know is stated NOWHERE except for in a thread where someone suggested exp locked pokemon shouldn't gain exp in the daycare (unless you count the wiki, but that's not on-site) and Niet replied that it is because everything needs a "cost" or you get "runaway inflation," and told someone who mentioned having multiple dittos for level matching that that's exactly why it exists.
Which... no. Literally no. As far as I can tell, you could remove that feature and literally nobody would notice, there would be no "runaway inflation," because it... doesn't actually matter. Maybe I'm just ignorant to the actual effect of it because I massclick so level 100 pairs work just as well as level 50 pairs for me, but... I've not once had to replace a level 100 pair. All the exp gain thing seems to do is be an annoyance.
They could keep it or lose it, I don't really care to be honest, but at the very least it should be stated on the daycare page so people don't rightfully assume a pokemon specifically toggled to NOT GAIN EXP won't gain exp, and people don't think it's a bug.
HARD AGREE. It's a stupid and asinine feature and for Niet to refer to it as a "punishment" for using a perfectly normal and acceptable feature of the game is a load of bullshit. Like, who does that? At that point, why even bother EXP locking a pokemon? It's batshit
