Although my rules tend to be the same across all my blogs, there are three (3!) points I wanna highlights when it comes to this blog! 😳
1. Although Saito might be somewhat of a flirt, this does not mean he’s seeking for anything nor is this an indicator of me trying to forceship you! On the same note, he has a tendency to get too casual/friendly with people despite not knowing them well in the sense of giving them nicknames and the such. If your muse is the type that does not take on this attitude lightly, I will not hold it against u if ur muse raises a fist to his mouth
2. The life behind the actual historical figure he’s based off is plagued with mystery, quite much like his fate counterpart; yet to add to this, there are many points in his story that raise questions and are up for debate in regards to their authenticity which we might never truly know. Another point in regards to this is that fate took quite a lot of creative liberties in regards to his character (in particular his personality as an example) as many other media depicting him has done in their own ways. With this i basically just wanna mention that i’m not trying to write the actual real person and that with historical context as a base, I might bounce around and pick bits of this reinvented version of fate with some divergencies
3. In comparison to his fellow Shinsengumi peers, Saito was one of the very few who actually got to survive past the elimination of the shinsengumi and the turbulent bakumatsu period (he died at 71 years old, not by a fight but out of a disease!) what i wanna say with this is that Saito pretty much went through two important periods of Japanese history (late edo -> meiji period) compared to his peers who fell along the way, which translates into a lot of information and a lot of context to read and understand, to all this I ask u to please be patient with me! i always try my best to do as much research as possible when i write characters but pls understand that if i ever make a mistake, it might be because of this reason
