[More Glazed Silliness]
[With the threat of the kidnapping at hand, Honey knew she couldn’t avoid facing Team Fusion once more. But with the new threat, she also couldn’t forget the terrible time she had in the caverns of Haunted Rock. These were people not to be taken lightly. Unfortunately… she had to tell her teammates what they had to do.]
Honey:
So, um… it’s not that there’s anything wrong, but I thought for everyone’s safety we might… split…? [As they all start to share worried glances with each other, she quickly blurts out] I love you all, I really do, but it’s just that last time not even Sap could stand up to all of them! They have lots of fire-types and-
Aiden:
And you need to cut some of us, of course. [He promptly shuts his notepad and moves the pencil between himself, Hugbug, and A.A. Shroom] Preferably the weakest of the bunch.
BBC:
Aiden, no said you were weak. She hasn’t even said who’s leaving yet.
Aiden:
Even if weren’t a matter of strength, I think it’s still fairly obvious. We’re going into dangerous territory with the potential threat of fire, and you and Manga are the only ones without a type disadvantage. And frankly, if there’s only room for one grass-type on this team, I’d pick Sap too. He even knows Earthquake which would wreck them without that weakness. You can’t argue with the statistics, boss.
Sap:
I wouldn’t want to see anyone leave either, but I’m afraid he has a point.
Manga:
But if all we’re worried about is a couple of fire-types, I can take ‘em. [Looks up at Honey] We can try right?
Honey:
Yeah, but it’s not just fire-types, Manga. It’s… there’s a lot of other things like we always struggle really hard against other grass-types, and even when we have a type advantage, there’s no telling how strong these guys will be. You even proved that against the Pikachu last time.
Manga:
Hmmm… that’s true. [Perks up] But we don’t have to split up right now, do we?
A.A. Shroom:
What are you thinking?
Manga:
[Steals Aiden’s pencil again for dramatics and just because he knows how it annoys him] A battle! [Looks to the group as he waves the utensil with a wide gesture] What do you say, guys? One last run through the Lighthouse before we say goodbye. It’ll be fun~!
BBC:
A couple of rounds for old times’ sake? I’m up for that.
=+=
[A couple of rounds was putting it lightly as by the time the group decided to depart, A.A. Shroom was laughing as she found herself being carried around by her new big buddy. Hugbug wasn’t ready to say goodbye to hometown friend, and the Scoliopede clung to the tiny Shroomish until she absolutely had to let go. Sap, BBC, Manga, and Hugbug each had a badge of honor that was said would help protect them in the long run. Even knowing it wasn’t going to be anything big, it was still hard leave.]
A.A. Shroom:
Awww, don’t be like that. It’s not like I’m actually going anywhere, we just won’t travel together.
Hugbug:
But it just won’t be the same without having you here!
BBC:
Aiden, are you sure you don’t want me to come with you? We could still work independently on-
Aiden:
And go back to small-time? Tch, where’s the fun in that? There’s danger and mystery, and uh… I’ll still be watching you every night. If you don’t go, who’s going to keep us up to date on how Honey’s doing? Or this whole strange world bending business? [slips a microphone around her neck and gives her a gentle pat] Besides I get to move up from simple Aide to working in editing, and believe me that’s more fun than what you’ll be getting into.
BBC:
[Playfully] Oh you know you’re going to be jealous.
Manga:
Aiden… Um, you know I’m not really good at these kind of things, but I thought I’d give you this before you left.
Aiden:
[Looks at the box] All my missing and broken pencils, I assume? You shouldn’t have. No seriously, you shouldn’t.
Manga:
No, loser, it’s a lot better than that!
Sap:
So have you decided what you might want to replace those two? It’s going to be odd not fully starting over like we’ve done before.
Honey:
Not really, but I was thinking we might try to get a fire-type of our own at least. You think BBC would be mad or happy to have another dog?
Sap:
Hmph, not an Eevee? I’m surprised at you.
Honey:
Hey, I like Eevee too, but right now I’ve got something telling me it’d be better to try to catch something on our way back to Storm City.
Sap:
Your instincts haven’t been wrong yet, so I’ll trust you know what you’re doing.
Honey:
Awww… you don’t like fire-types?
Sap:
[The look he is giving her says it all, but he’s debating on giving the honest or sarcastic answer. Amused] Terribly biased. I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but I have had a few bad encounters before. Make sure it’s a good dog, at least?
Honey:
[giggles] I promise.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just like last time, a little blip of stuff with the early party. This time as we get ready to say goodbye and prepare for the gauntlet of plot that awaits after the Bagon hunt. Not really much of a story though since it doesn't have much of a solid beginning or end, but just spur of the moment cuteness?
[Glazed Silliness]
[As much as Honey didn't WANT to do the errand for Melanie, the Voices seemed very intent she complied. At least all her training at the Lighthouse now was getting the group some combat experience, but while she purposefully procrastinated on shopping, it seemed like a good chance to get in some practice of her own. She slips delicately through the sign announcing the challenge, clenching her hands afterward to see she was still visually solid, and tried out her "ghosting" ability with more speed.]
Honey:
Hmmm… [looks at her hands after stepping back through the sign to where her team sat waiting] It doesn’t hurt or anything, but you guys can see it, can’t you?
AA Shroom:
See…. what?
Sap:
[Just shakes his head at her]
Honey:
Oh…
Sap:
I see you pushing your limits just fine, I just wish you wouldn’t play with it. What do you think this is? A lingering effect from whatever they did to you on Haunted Isle, or a sign that you’re about to jump again?
Honey:
[Glances down at BBC testing how solid the Lighthouse’s logo actually is, while the Voices scream at her that “It’s a SIIIIIGN” … Of what? Hadn’t really thought about that yet] I’m glad you’re the voice of reason, cause I don’t think I have one.
Manga:
[Looks at AA Shroom] So what do you see when she does that?
AA Shroom
She just slid under the sign? I see kids do that all the time with the signpost back home. Right, Huggabug?
Hugbug:
[Nodnodnod]
BBC:
You two are also the newest, so it may be more obvious to us who’ve been exposed to this for some time.
Honey:
[Playful huff] Don’t say it like that, you make it sound like I’m dirty or something. [thoughtfully as she glances away] Although I feel kind of bad to think you all are slowly being pulled into this too…
Sap:
Why? I should think it a very good thing. If you can only stand up to Team Fusion because of your strange ability, then wouldn’t it be better if we gained it too so we can protect you?
Honey:
[Wry grin as she scratches the side of her cheek as she doesn’t want to offend the others, but it’s true] Except… you’re the only one who’s been protecting me.
Manga:
[Steals Aiden’s pen and starts swishing it like a sword] Someday I will! When I get all big, I’ll protect you from anything!
Aiden:
Gimme that. [takes it back]
BBC:
[Soft snicker to him] Oh let him have his fun. You don’t need to record any of this anyway.
Aiden:
[holds up page for the anchor to read] Oh, I wasn’t working on the report, I’m just getting some notes for later. See, judging by our records in the Lighthouse Challenge, Manga and I should have probably evolved a while ago. Also, even if there’s been some weird things for our group, none of us have started phasing through objects like Honey, we just seem to notice when she does. You think the energy affects us differently?
Honey:
[Sighs] That’d be our luck, wouldn’t it? Who do you two even report to anyway?
BBC:
Huh? Oh, I have a huge following back home. [Aiden suddenly pulls up a photo with several Poochyena a pair of Mightena with a banner wishing her luck] And you seem to be aware of the constant presence from those who need to be informed. I may not be the strongest member of our group, but I can certainly help in that. [looks up to no one in particular and gives a happy] I love you guys~~!
Honey:
[Would want to question the poor pooch’s sanity, but she’s suddenly hit with a number of Voices happily squeal to realize Doggo loves them too!] …. … … Huh. Learn something new everyday.
Hugbug:
[Gets just high enough on her back legs to motion for Honey to carry her]
Honey:
[Happily complies] Come here, big baby. [Looks down at the others with the Venipede resting on her hip] So what do you all suppose we do now?
Manga:
I wanna try the Lighthouse again. I wanna see if Aiden is right.
Sap:
[Has known about the failing to evolve for a while, but might as well let the kid try] You’ll just be disappointed.
Honey:
We can still try the challenge at least. I think I heard that if you complete the challenge, you get a new Pokemon.
AA Shroom:
New friend is always good.
BBC:
[Goes to tell him how that may not be good since they already have six team members]
Aiden:
[Thwacks the notebook in front of her snout to stop her] Of course~! Manga, lead the way.
Just some Glazed silliness. I originally typed this up as part of the fic I'm working on, but it doesn't seem to do much for the plot, so I thought it'd be a cute bit of randomness to post separately. XD
Inctober day 2! Tis time I decided to take a look at an older sketch and finish it. It’s a picture of a race I made up for a homebrew table top game. They are called Ahuni-- Hermaphroditic warrior beasts who ban together in clans of 10 or 15 individuals. They meet once a year in a secret spot in the desert they believe they spawned from to reproduce and do battle to see which clan is the strongest. The one who wins the tourney becomes what’s known as the “Alpha Prime”. They choose who and when to go to war with. Needless to say, these blood thirsty mongrels are constantly picking on whoever is unfortunate enough to cross borders with them.
