Heavy AI Use Is Quietly Eroding Your Thinking Skills, Study Finds
A new study warns that heavy AI use may quietly weaken thinking skills, focus, and confidence — even after short periods of reliance.
Sometimes I really worry that people don’t understand that AI dependency exists and that it’s more complex than just being lazy. Sure, being lazy and not wanting to think for yourself is one of the main reasons for people to become dependent, but I’ve met people who don’t have a real support network—in any sense of the word, who find comfort in being listened to for something, even is a fucking bot. Yeah, AI is bad—we’re not going to defend that—but I think making fun of people who admit they have a dependency that comes and goes during the worst moments of their lives is honestly pathetic. The internet is constantly harping on about how we need to build community, but they’re incapable of listening to someone who has a fucking big problem, and I know about willpower and all that, but being truly alone and isolated from people for various reasons leads to these situations, and no, friends; telling them they’re murderous idiots isn’t going to help them—they probably said themselve that all the time already, and that just makes their dependency worse and worse. That’s all.
Note 1: Yes, I know some people are just a selfish idiots, but I think is very obvious that I don't talk about them
Note 2: Forgiveness is a tough way, but it's not impossible
