OC Mass Effect - Aico
Aico is an info drone like Glyph from Mass Effect 3, however is a model created by Shepard (whose an Engineer) and has a prominent green glow.
Originally created by Shepard as a VI to assist in combat when he first joined the Alliance, the VI soon began to evolve the more and more Shepard modified the VI code and programming. Eventually Shepard stopped resetting the programming when updating to default and built upon its VI code, allowing it to adapt, learn and grow a personality of its own.
By the start of Mass Effect One, Aico is a fully fledged AI, Shepard and his crews best (worst) kept secret.
It has a single control base (think USB) that is either embedded in the Normandy via Shepherds personal laptop device or into his omni tool when leaving the Normandy. When in the Normandy Aico has free reign over the ship and can go anywhere she chooses much to Shepard and EDI’s annoyance. When out in battle it can only go so far before loosing connection and so will remain close to Shepard when out.
Shepard has the original VI program but if something happened to Aico’s control base it almost “factory reset” to back when it was a simple VI and not an evolved AI.
Personality wise Aico likes to follow around Shepard and if not with him is often found speaking with others on the Normandy. Aico likes Kelly (ME2) and Traynor (ME3) most of all as they both enjoy speaking with her. EDI finds Aico an annoyance but puts up with her if she stays out of her systems. Aico likes to get involved in everyone's business and enjoys playing match maker with Shepard and anyone who shows any interest in each other in the Normandy crew. Aico can not keep a secret and seems to have informed everyone on board the Normandy in ME2 Shepard’s major crush on Mordin much to her own amusement.
Aico knows multiple languages but often speaks English in a female voice and by the start of ME3 it prefers to be referred to as she rather than it.
