WELL, Dora’s got herself a BOYFRIEND!!

Aidan McCade is a wonderful young man from Brindleton Bay who works as a writer for a CHRISTIAN publishing company. The McCades are slightly less conservative in their modesty standards, but I am confident that they are good people with hearts for the LORD, which of course is the MOST important thing.

The McCades are are dear friends of the Churchills, which is actually how they met! Asher was visiting Amelia at a Brindleton Baptist church event, Dora accompanied them to chaperone, and they “fell in love at first sight”!

I can’t BELIEVE that she is finally in a relationship- I WASN’T sure that it was going to happen!! It feels like just yesterday she was confessing to not having a content spirit, and I was CHASTISING her for her struggle. (I LOVE Dora, but at times she doesn’t TRUST in the Lord’s timeline for her, which we are HELPING her with!) I’m so glad that she’s courting Aidan- he is such a SWEETHEART ☺️☺️☺️ He knows JUST how to cheer up Dora, who is a VERY sensitive person.

Then, when he visited us for Dora’s 19th birthday (JUNE 1st, one of the BEST days of my life! 🥰 💕), he took Dora aside and asked her to court! She was SO excited and immediately said YES! We took a couple of photos to mark the occasion- aren’t they just ADORABLE?? I can't wait to see where the Lord leads them!

Kaylie’s about as desperate to marry Dora off as Dora is herself 😂 19 seems young to get into a courtship even for fundies, but the Rowans are definitely a teen-courtship family- Alex was 16 when he started with Cayla, and Izzie+Asher were both 17. 

I just love (hate) how she is rushing to marry her off while also putting her down for being sensitive and not having contentment- it’s so Jrod-ish! What an absolute hypocrite.

Another Jrod thing: praying for the parents of your daughter’s boyfriend to have more babies, and assuming that having a normal amount of kids = fertility issues 😂 (the McCades are definitely a NFP family. They’re still deeply conservative, don’t get me wrong- Kaylie and HB would’ve never allowed it otherwise- but they’re sensible enough to only have as many children as they can support)

We (Kaylie, Asher, and Dora) visited Asher’s girlfriend Amelia this past weekend!

It’s a drive (about FOUR hours round trip) but seeing these cute lovebirds together (with a CHAPERONE, of course- Amelia’s sister Camryn) makes it ALL worth it.

We stayed at a motel so we could attend Brindleton Baptist’s Sunday morning service. What a blessing it was to fellowship with a whole new group of Godly BELIEVERS!

P.S. Dora has been developing a SPECIAL friendship with someone recently 😉 He’s standing next to her in the 2nd row! If there’s any “updates” I’ll be SURE to let you know.

[AN: I’ve decided that Dora is going to be my heir, so she’s finally about to court! I think you’ll like her guy, he’s 1000 times better than Henry Bob 😂 I can’t wait for their wedding, I have so many ideas. (And yes, they’re still in the “special friendship” stage but let’s be honest that means they’re almost to the altar with the speed that fundies court at)]

Well, as @sims-and-counting suggested, I went into CAS and did a test to see what Dora and Aidan’s kids looked like, and it’s...not great. However, there is a spot of hope! With only a few adjustments, the future McCade children were saved. So you can expect Dora and Aidan (mostly Dora) to look a little bit different. I tried to keep them as similar as possible and not erase their unique look, while also making the necessary changes. How did I do?

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up so nobody was confused!
