Emmerdale reveals John and Aaron's wedding drama

Monday 26 May 2025

John and Aaron's wedding day arrives. When Cain reveals the dredging of the lake has begun, a panicked John starts packing to flee.

Aaron catches John mid-escape but is reassured it's just pre-wedding jitters. The moment Aaron leaves, John continues packing and drives away from the village.

However, upon seeing the workers down tools and learning the dredging has been cancelled, John confirms he'll proceed with the wedding.

Later, John's plans are thrown into chaos when Cathleen, Aidan's mother, arrives with news her son has awakened from his coma and is asking for John.

A dreaming John is tormented by his nightmares as he envisions the new threat of Aidan interrupting his wedding.

Later, Aaron witnesses John with Aidan and mistakenly believes John still loves Aidan. He heartbreakingly calls off the wedding, despite John's desperate protestations.

Elsewhere, Lewis gets a phone alert that there is an intruder in his attic. When he realises it is Mackenzie, he wants an explanation from Ross.

The wedding is still in danger of not going ahead. Chas and Victoria awkwardly cover for the missing grooms in front of increasingly impatient guests.

Later, with Mack mysteriously absent, Aaron enlists Paddy as his best man, and the ceremony finally begins. Will everything go according to plan?

Lewis pushes Ross hard for answers.

Harry is on a drip in hospital and Mack is a pariah.

Blaming himself for the potential death of a child, Mack breaks down in John's arms, but John's guilt threatens to overwhelm him too.

Victoria is grateful to John for his support. John is delighted.

Tuesday 20 May

Mack tries to make amends after his apparent mistake.

Also today, John bumps into Cathleen, who assumes he's been notified about Aidan. She begs him to accompany her to see him on his ward.

Finally, Tracy is still secretly using Nate's credit card, but when it is unexpectedly declined, Belle helps her out.

Wednesday 21 May

John is trapped in a new private nightmare when he hears Aidan has awoken.

John is drawn to Aidan's bedside to try and assess the threat level. Will Aidan remember their shared past?

At the same time, with Harry due home from hospital tomorrow and Aidan still non-verbal, John is hopeful that his secrets are safe.

However, unbeknownst to him, Belle is about to pull the thread that could unravel his lies as she heads to Scotland to find Nate.

Meanwhile, with the farm's financial troubles now terminal, Moira tells Cain she's ready to jack it all in.

John is shocked to realise Belle knows Nate didn't arrive in Shetland.

John has returned to Aiden's bedside for a another confessional, he tells him there is not a day that goes by he doesn't wish he (Aiden) was dead! (that's nice!) John adds but right now there's someone else that needs putting out their misery and that will be his 'friend' Mack!

John says to Aiden's unconscious form, Mackenzie is going to find out what happens when people push him that little bit too hard!

Emmerdale 18.12.24 Part 3

John explains to Aaron he's carried Aiden around with him for too long and it's time he started looking forward, if he's up for it. Aaron nods in agreement but John wants more he's tells Aaron that's his cue to announce his undying love for him.

Aaron says he's in it for the long haul but John wants more, he's bared his heart & soul to him these last few days, Aaron says well he thinks he thinks he might love him and John parrots Aaron saying he thinks he might love him too as they grow closer.

After the declaration of love between them they seal their love with a kiss.

The final shots show Aaron and John kissing and holding each other in picturesque scenery.
