lucy hadn't spoken to aiden for a while now, the guilt of that choice was starting to weigh on her. she didn't like outcasting a friend, but she needed time to asses things. their last conversation left her vexed, he couldn't understand why she was upset. and, really, did lucy remember why she was upset? "i got some baked good from mums place, so, dig in." she sticks her hands in her pockets, glancing over to the white flag in the shape of food.

Zeynep enjoyed the opportunity to gather and celebrate love. It felt like a rarity in terms of its authenticity and ability to sustain and endure the trials that come. What she hadn't anticipated was August and Delilah's house-warming party becoming an impromptu engagement party by way of August's younger brother proposing to his girlfriend of six weeks. Zey didn't know whether to object and be concerned, sit back and enjoy the chaos ensue, or a combination of the two. Clearly, the whole room was shocked, and who dares take a moment away from someone else and put it on themselves. "How much you want to bet they last no longer than after New Year's?"

"Gosh, did I look as bad as you do?" Clare chuckled as she waved at Aiden, who was waiting for her by the car. She was happy to be able to pay back the kindness Aiden had extended to her in her moment of weakness. However, unlike her, he was coming off celebrating another trip around the sun. The fact that they were both standing upright was rather impressive. The Flannery was far too much of a lightweight, as New Year's Eve had displayed. Luckily for him, they were going to indulge in the greasiest of fast foods and share the present she made for him that was tucked away in the backseat. "One, did you miss me? Two, how did the celebration go?"

"Try this." Lucy holds out the pastry towards her friend. She hadn't seen Aiden in months, and had felt rather guilty about that fact. Life happened, university got busy, and Lucy fell behind on keeping up with friendships. "Mum made it. She made more than I could eat in a month."

The Flannery has no idea how she got there, but the guy at the comic book store send her the open invite. She figured while she navigated the terrain for the next few days with Axel that she enjoy herself before she's banished or welcomed to stay. There was a keg and a bunch of random shit, but Clare was starving. Someone said there was this dude sat in the corner who could cook. Hence, why she was bothering him. "Hello!" she said kicking his foot. "I heard you're a cook. Can you whip something up in the kitchen if I give you $10?"

Despite being in a room with a handful of people, Daphne had not felt this isolated since her reality flipped on its head. Why had she even agreed to this gathering was a mistake on her part. "Hmm, sorry, what?" she says, glancing over to Aiden. "Did you say something?" Surely Aiden wanted out as well, or was he enjoying himself?

"Under the veneer of hardened kid, there's a sweet man who's friendship was worth hanging around for. He probably thought I was the most annoying person trying to be around him all the time when we were little. And even though the first time he defended me from the bullies at school it wasn't really for my benefit, it was still enough. I saw something in him, and I desperately needed a friend at the time. I guess you could say I wore him down to point where he accepted I'd follow him like a lost puppy. Nowadays he comes to my house to hang out, we'll be doing our own things but contently in each others company."
