Repost @emsdental Removing biofilm before removing calculus during Guided Biofilm Therapy is the logical approach for a minimally invasive, efficient and safe treatment. It not only reduces the overall bacterial contamination, but also drastically reduces the over instrumentation that clinicians unknowingly do using conventional hand instruments and ultrasonics. In addition removing biofilm before calculus, helps clinicians to visualize the supra gingival calculus much more clearly, hence reducing the use of ultrasonics. In doing so we also preserve the integrity of the teeth.
