Hiii I wanna send you lil ask game emojis but I hardly know anything about your ocs, please give me the rambly rundown!! I wanna get to know them!
gasp hiiii! :D
I have a million WIPs so I'll just go into detail about my main one, Chosen Heroes!
So, the premise of the story is that there's a magical sword creature (named Sigurd) who travels between dimensions and choses people to wield him. The 'chosen one' then uses the sword to stop whatever problem is happening in their home dimension.
So the story kicks off when Sigurd meets the main character, Ragunoe, and choses him to wield him. But the catch is that Ragunoe will be traveling between dimensions and fixing multiple problems (all having cracks that are draining the dimensions of their life force) while trying to figure out who the big bad is.
This is Ragunoe! My blorbo of all time 😭💕 He's incredibly socially awkward and has very low self esteem. It takes him awhile to fully accept the mantle of the 'chosen one' because he doesn't think he's worthy. He always sees the best in people and believes everyone can change for the better and deserves a chance.
He's a people pleaser and is too trusting for his own good, and is also British.
His first mission was to slay a dragon :)
And this is Sigurd. (My beloved monkey grandpa) Whoever he's chosen as his wielder can summon his sword to their hand, or dismiss it, causing it to vanish. When his sword is summoned he turns invisible and effectively non existent to everyone but the wielder, who can still see, hear, and touch him. When the sword is dismissed, he returns to normal.
Sigurd is a thousand something years old, he's been to a good deal of dimensions and has met hundreds of people, (he has a little book he writes about the dimensions and people in) though he's outlived everyone he's ever met, it doesn't stop him from wanting to make connections. He's Ragunoe's mentor and cares for him deeply, and helps him to see his own self worth. He's the therapist of the group but kindly deflects any attempts of therapy on himself. 😌
This is Aigivuh! The sweetest girl ever ❤️ She joins Ragunoe on his second mission, yearning for adventure (and maybe wanting to escape the fresh pain of losing a loved one...maybe) she joins him on his quest. She loves people and is filled with wonder and optimism, she's also saved Ragunoe from a million awkward social interactions.
She'll forgive almost anyone in a heartbeat, and just wants to make the world a bit brighter.
Together, her and Ragunoe are the ultimate Trusting People Without Caution Team, which may or may not be a good thing.
Which leads brings us to the next character
Ian! He has....issues. I love him dearly but he is an absolute jerk in the beginning ahdbab
He became immortal at his request, but now that it's been a thousand something years, he's deeply regretting his decision and would do anything to break his curse... including making a deal with one of the villains, Christopher, a teenage ghost who also has Issues. (More on him in a bit)
He leads Ragunoe, Sigurd, and Aigivuh into a trap in order to hand Sigurd over to Christopher, but changes his mind last minute.
He joins Ragunoe in the hopes of finding some way to break his curse in other dimensions, and somehow becomes the voice of reason in this group of idiots. (Sigurd not included)
He seems to know more than he lets on, but refuses to answer questions about his past.
Alright, and here's the last character in the main group, Reap! He's a little Freak but we love him.
He's a genius who pretends to be an idiot but he also just is an idiot. He's secretly leading a revolution against the tyrannical dragons, and after Ragunoe and the rest help them to win, he decides to go with them. (he's a sheema, which is a species I made up)
He was born blind but has a magic tattoo on his face that he can activate that enables him to see, although everything is blurry and black and white, and if he has it active for too long, it hurts his eyes.
He's often underestimated due to his height, (4'4") and because of how he acts, which gives him the upper hand with the element of surprise. (it also helps to have a big poncho to hide your knives in)
And now onto the villains
At first Christopher appears to be the big bad behind the cracks, a teenage ghost fueled by rage seemingly using his Essence Draining magic to resurrect himself, and exploiting his younger sister, Charlie for her Dimensions Navigation magic, a magic before thought only to be a myth.
He keeps popping up across the dimensions, slowly recruiting a small band to help him achieve his goals, and promising them their desires.
(A place to belong, a chance to save their friend, the promise of a good time)
But despite the front he puts on, he desperately wants to be loved.
Christopher's younger sister, Charlie. She's kept in the dark about Christopher's plans, and she's too scared to speak up. She just doesn't want anyone to get hurt, why can't they just be happy?
She wants Christopher back, so reluctantly she uses her magic for him, but she doesn't trust the people he's recruited, she can see through their temporary loyalty, but Christopher won't listen to her.
But the person who scares her the most is the person Christopher trusts the most.
Ulrik.
(WIP I never finished lol)
A ghost who appeared after Christopher died, claiming to be their forgotten ancestor, sent to help Christopher live the life that was stolen from him. Having the same magic as Christopher, he proposes a plan to gather enough Essence to revive Christopher. He shows Charlie how to use her magic, and is the true master mind behind it all, but treats Christopher as the leader.
When Ragunoe begins closing the cracks they opened, he begins planning how to get his hands on Sigurd, and advises Christopher not to mention him to the 'heroes'...
Okay! I think that's a pretty decent gloss over of the story! Feel free to pry if you're intrigued! And thank you so much for the ask!!! :D
Realized the other day that Ian knew Ulrik, they were friends, they grew up together. So while he wouldn't consider him a friend anymore, he'd probably still feel some lingering affection, even if it's just for the man he once was.
So at the end, when Ulrik's finally defeated, he expects to feel relieved, happy even! But that just isn't the case.
