Hey! Do you think it's important to listen to like the news or radio in the language(s) you're learning even if you don't fully understand what's being said??

Yep. If you understand anything at all that’s already a help, and it’s training your ear to the general rhythms and cadence of the language which will mean it will be significantly easier to understand once you’ve got more of the vocab down.

Especially with languages that don’t sound really similar to how they’re written (eg French) it’s even more important.

aw man i have such a problem with that too! i normally just read til i’m too tired to stay awake anymore though which probably isn’t the best

whenever i stay at a relatives and there are clocks in the room i end up taking them all and putting them in drawers

and sometimes i forget in the morning to put them back and they get confused :P

i watched the first episode of new girl and it was fine? but yeah there were a lot of references to ‘nerdy’ things that felt really kind of thrown in and unnecessary?

ive only seen one or two but at the time i had watched things like 500 days of summer recently and zooey deschannel was just huge as the "quirky" girl and stuff

and there was an ep where they were trying to get her to meet guys and the way she was failing was just not very believable :P

plus i didnt find it that funny.. but im seeing on tumblr that further on it gets better.. maybe more of a story to it idk..
