About once a month I’ll take cookies to share at work. It’s a fun way to try out new flavors and sometimes I take requests when there’s a birthday.

A couple weeks ago my fav manager comes over and says “my wife and I really love your cookies, and she wants to set up like a monthly deal where we buy a couple dozen.” I said I’d be happy to but “don’t you keep chickens? Wanna trade for eggs?”

So yesterday I gave her two dozen lemon-thyme cookies and today she handed me a bag of five dozen freshly harvested eggs. Which was double what we agreed on but she said “we’ve got like 8 dozen more on our kitchen counter right now please take them, your baking is worth it.”

Soooo I’m super excited here. Gonna soft boil and marinate a few for ramen, then practice making pastry cream. Maybe lemon custard.
