Just when I take a break from everything around me I started watching Pakistani dramas which are no doubt very well written. Script writing is not a piece of cake; a good script needs tons of creativity, a great deal of time, knowledge of the language, intelligence and most importantly how a writer engages it’s audience/reader. Anyways moving on, I recently started watching an on-going drama Gul o Gulzar which is being aired on ARY television. Starring Saboor ali and Kanza Hashmi in the lead roles the drama serial revolves around two friends; one is pure evil and another one is innocent as an angel. So far drama is going well but I am seriously having deja vu watching this drama. I have seen all this before. Let me remember where I watched it before. OH!! Yes on GEO television. The drama Gul o Gulzar is the cheap copy of Ghar titli ka par. The GEO TV serial features Aiman khan and sanam choudhry in the lead roles along with the dashing Shehzad Sheikh. The drama was about friendship love and betrayal and greediness of a selfish woman.  The similarities between Geo tv’s ghar titli ka par and ARY’s Gul o gulzar is so real that I cannot resist myself to not to talk about it. Just like Anji and Shafaq , Gul and Gulzar are best friends forever one is a saint and the other is evil. Saboor ali is trying too hard to become anji (sanam choudhry). From the uniform to the high ponytail to the headphones everything reminds me of Anji. While on the other hand kinza is doing justice with the shafaq character oh I mean gulzar’s character. This drama has nothing to offer, the  same old story where we will witness “kabhi sautan kabhi saheli “ No doubt all the four actresses are doing a great job, they all are good in their respective roles but all we want is new drama, new scripts, new topics not the same old rewind reels .
