My Favorite Parts of Six from Six
The little tune in the beginning played by a ukulele
How the mini solos sung by the queens some how incorporate an essential part of their solo song or their solo in ex-wives
Catherine of Aragon: “but I said NO WAY” à “NO WAY”
Anne Boleyn: “about MY GREEN SLEEVES” à “my SLEEVES MAY BE GREEN”
Jane Seymour: “We’re called the royalling STONES” à “my heart of STONE”
Anna of Cleves: “Now everybody GETS DOWN” à “GET DOWN”
Katherine Howard: “Now ALL I DO IS sing” à “ALL YOU WANNA DO”
Catherine Parr: “Now I DON’T NEED YOUR LOVE” à “I DON’T NEED YOUR LOVE”
The entire tune of the song, it’s so catchy and it’s the type of tune that is my favorite; upbeat, light, yet empowering
“We’re ONE of a kind….TOO(TWO) many years……we’re FREE(THREE)…..FOR(FOUR) FIVE more minutes, we’re SIX” just because its so creative and how they incorporated the numbers into the song
“All I need is Six” “aw thanks babe” and all the little mutters of appreciation from the other queens
How they’ve now come full circle and sing the same melody of the chorus of ex-wives but with a different message
Like the part in Ex Wives where they sing “welcome to the show, to the histo-re-mix” whereas in six, with the same melody, they sing “it’s the end of the show”
“But we wanna say before we drop the curtain, nothing is for sure, nothing is for certain”
That harmony on the word wives when they sing “all that we know is that we used to be six wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiivvvvvvvvvvvesssssssssssss!”
Like I didn’t even know they top most harmony existed until I heard Samantha Pauly sing it in one of her covers and the other queens sing it in the quarantine edition
THE KEY CHANGE OH MY GOSH CHILLSSSSSS
The harmonies that now appear in the chorus
“For five, four, three, two, one, more minute…..we’re six!”
That last chord played by the band
Sorry for not posting a lot lately, I’ve been dealing with a lot of mental health issues but hopefully more posts will be coming your way, including another update on the Broadway Gone Dark situation.
