““If you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself.”
― George Orwell, 1984
Aimee Collins is the girl every other girl wanted to be in high school. Pretty, perky and popular, this girl has made her life look perfect and made her perfection look effortless. Her family fortune doesn’t hurt either. However, despite what Aimee wants everyone to believe, no one is perfect, not even her. She’s worked hard to create her guise of perfection, but every disguise has it’s cracks, Aimee is worried that she might have one that she cannot hide. Aimee has a secret. Her secret? She’s gay. But she couldn’t possibly be gay, she’s Aimee Collins. She is going to grow up, get married, have children, her life will be as pristine and perfect as her high school career. She has expectations to live up to, her mother’s expectations. She couldn’t be gay. She’s dated boys. She’s done much more than date boys. Now, it’s not that Aimee has a problem with people being gay, Aimee has a problem with her being gay. Aimee loves love and everything to do with it. From romantic novels to the cheesiest romcom, she gets starry-eyed. Still, she can never say she’s been in love. She doesn’t know what love feels like. She only knows the way boys treat her, and the way girls make her feel.
Aimee’s very passionate about helping others. She’s so good at pretending to be perfect that others have often come to look up to her, and after helping a few people with their personal problems, Aimee’s involvement in charity work has steadily grown. Her parents are extremely supportive of her giving nature, and with their wealth they can more than afford to give to those with less.
Aimee has buried her secret deep within her. She continues with boys, hoping that if she ignores her feelings long enough, or just finds the right boy maybe her life will become what it is supposed to be. With university starting, she has once again picked of her mask of perfection and she’s leaving her family behind in Texas. Will this change of scenery be what she needs to finally accept the feelings inside of her? Will her mask crack and people see through the perfect life she has built? Will Aimee feel love for this first time in her life?

Elle Song: Aimee didn’t plan on rushing a sorority. She thought best to distant herself from living with that many girls. Sure, sorority girls may be popular, but Aimee never struggled with that before, so why put herself in a situation where she might have to hide her feelings? But when Aimee and Elle met they hit it off immediately, and Elle was able to convince Aimee to rush with her, especially when Aimee couldn’t come up with a real reason she didn’t want to.
Zeke Sparrow: Zeke has taken an interest to Aimee from the moment she stepped on campus. Aimee’s not particularly interested, especially since she’s still so new to campus, but she also knows that she could do a lot worse. With his status he’s clearly high on the social ladder. Aimee hasn’t pushed him away, but she hasn’t really led him on yet either.
Paisley Green: If Aimee Collins was gay, which she’s not, she would definitely have a crush on Paisley Green. The girl herself is stunning, and her passion for others, for any cause, is inspiring. Paisley’s got a plan to reform Gamma Rho, and has taken the responsibility of being Aimee’s guide for rushing the sorority, but Paisley’s movement has caused a divide in the sorority, and getting involved could cost her a bid. And not getting a bid would infuriate Elle, and possibly threaten the perfect persona Aimee’s trying to put on.
