on futility
in the silence, a question, perhaps: what is the point of endless forward motion if there is nothing to move towards? (or maybe just why? but i am much more inclined to hear what isn’t said than what is.) here we are in the target scenario, though, where we are going somewhere rather than nowhere. can it be called aimlessness if we are aiming blind? if we are pointing and running fast as we can in some random direction? it feels pointless to me. it feels more aimless than going nowhere at all, i must say. how we were all but convinced we were going somewhere and when we ran out of breath we found that, in fact, we had gone nowhere at all.
