hello rosy!!!! I hope youre doing okay!!!!
I was thinking about ever after the other day and ive got two questions to ask you hihi
First, do you know when (approximately) we will get the next update ? (no pressure AT ALL i was just wondering)
Secondly, once youre done writing it, do you think you’ll move on to another AU centered around nico jason piper and leo? Im really curious about this cause i was talking to my friend the other day about how it would be so much fun if they were pirates or something and idk it made me wonder if you were thinking about inserting them again in a new universe !!!
Thank you for your answer/s and take care !!!! <3
Ps : i LOOOOOVEEDDDD grade-one emergency. 10/10 as usual.
Omg hi hi hi anon!!!!! Thank you, I loved grade-one emergency!! Another pitt fic is shortly incoming!!
Ooooh i looove the idea of pirates and I did toss around a pirates AU a few years ago but sadly it never caught flint in my head. I tried to work a pirates plot into fairytale fic but it was already so GODDAMN LONG and eventually it and a circus plot both got cut </3
& im not sure what the next core four AU will be! honestly for a while i was thinking a medical drama crossover story would be fun, but i think im getting all my medical AU out through my pitt fic so maybe not hahaha. we’ll see! fairytale fic will probably be my last for a while <3
speaking of fairytale fic, I DID take an accident hiatus lol but my inspo is coming back and I’m so excited to jump back in!! i am still VERY excited about the end plot and there’s still sooooo much to cover plot-wise! I’m thinking of shortening the scene list just to get a new chapter out soon and just aiming for something 20-25k but we’ll see! I’m shooting for an early to mid-April post, probably? But here’s an unedited excerpt from the beginning of the next chap :)
So according to your schedules list, does that mean your aiming to finish both stories by April? Obv there’s no delays or anything in this hypothetical. When you do finish the stories what’s your next project or move?
Hi! The schedule is updated to include the rest of the chapters of both stories, so please take a look whenever you can~ Assuming no interruptions (unlikely), WPS will be done by April and TCD by May! Once I'm done... I think I'll take a short break to reflect on life and maybe play with some one-shots before starting another series! (I'm only gonna do one at a time from now on...it's sooo hard to juggle two)
I still have it as my life goal to finish MSS as well :') But we'll see! I don't think a lot of my Tumblr followers have even read it!
Aw, thank you so much! I'm glad to see you're still around (if you were reading my stories back then!) I'll do my best to write as much as I can before I die from exhaustion again XD
Omg stoppp, it's me who doesn't deserve you guys! You're all so nice, patient, supportive, and understanding. 🥺 It makes writing feel so worthwhile <3 Thank you for reading and being the best readers!
NaNoWriMo Alternatives (Update)
Hi everyone, There are a lot of people who want to continue the spirit of writing a novel in November despite the collapse of the official organization (see scandal and AI sponser). I've looked into a few alternate options since then. And I wanted to share my findings.
To be upfront, I have chosen TrackBear, which has a very old school NaNo vibe (clean, just the wordcount goals, sprints, and graphs with the added bonus that you can import projects from your old NaNo account if you haven't deleted it yet). I've really only tried TrackBear because it just seemed like the right option for me since I was never really in the forums and just liked the graphs and goals. Still, I did this research for an older person who was trying to write a memoir and it seemed like it was worth sharing. (Also, I did this research in April so I don't know what's changed since then.)
TrackBear is very simple and that's what's nice about it. It's a straight "I want to write this many words (or pages) by this date." It gives you how many words a day you should aim for and lets you track your progress as you write. It's a simple, clean way to approach writing a memoir. No premiums. No ads. Just you and your goals.
Pacemaker is designed to create a writing schedule for you. We all are busy so maybe 1,667 words every day isn't feasible. It can set smaller goals (if you just want to start with a few chapters) or bigger ones. (I haven't personally tried this, but I've heard good things and it seemed like it might be more appropriate for goals in general.) It is free, though there is a premium version that lets you track more projects. I think you'll be fine with the free one.
myWriteClub I'm mostly including this one because I heard you can track multiple projects at once. I don't know what kind of a writer you are, but if you wanted to create a project for each chapter/story rather than for the whole memoir, I think this might be a good choice.
By the way, I'm treating November like Camp Nano with a smaller word count. I rescheduled the official goal for May in a thing I call May, We Write because November has always been rough for me and I prefer a month that isn't so jam packed. I'll still do some November writing, but it's going to be more Camp NaNo goals than official NaNo, the 50,000 words has been rescheduled to May for me.
The Great Knitted Christmas Gifts Bonanza of 2024
(Working title)
Besties and beloved mutuals, welcome to the chaos.
This will be wacky. Zany. Incredibly boring at times and possibly excessively dramatic for no reason at all except my (and hopefully your) amusement. We will laugh! I will cry! We will perhaps commiserate over things and also I will aggravate my carpal tunnel! I will ask for advice on things I don't know how to do! I will make polls because audience participation is enrichment for me! Good shit good shit let's get started
is there any updates for the next chapter? Sorry I don’t want to sound like I’m rushing you I just wanted to check in on you queen 🩷 sending love!
hi hi anon! Firstly, it doesn't sound like you're rushing at all. Thank you for checking in! 💜 I promise I'm working on Chapter 46 🫶🏻 I'm aiming for publication sometime in May. I wanna say Sunday, May 3rd, but that's more of a soft deadline than a hard one. I have Commencement ceremonies and a trip after that Sunday, so maybe May 3rd is gonna be the official target lololol. I gotta put it in my calendar.
Updates have been sparse mainly cause:
1) I haven't had time to sit down and write? I dunno why, but if I'm not secluded and/or in the dark, my mind is blank. Literal cobwebs in this noggin 90% of the time. I've also fallen asleep a lot this semester. I'll be in my bed with the lights off, open my doc, maybe do a couple of sentences, then call it a day and go to sleep 💔
2) The end of the school year has really been getting to me. Spring break happened at the beginning of March, and I haven't recovered. And we're approaching my last week of uni senior year & finals, so it's crunch time. I have 1 final, though, so I will be using my new free time to write :-) That's as long as all the papers due this week don't kill me. I don't know if I mentioned this anywhere across my platforms, but for the 2025-2026 academic year, I started another part-time job plus an internship, so between my current part-time job and my other stuff, I had very minimal writing time. And any writing time I did have was spent staring at my laptop screen. That, and all of April has consisted of me spiraling! Graduation feels like a dark, ominous cloud hanging over my head. I just can't believe it.
3) I'm frustrated with myself cause of the arbitrary pressure. I'm trying to figure out how to make seasons 7 and 8 feel less rushed/weave into whatever lore I've come up with. I think I've rewritten/reworked the current Chapter 46 draft three times already. I've hated it. But I did have a recent epiphany, so I am super excited! I also keep thinking of things I wanna change/add in, so I get sidetracked brainstorming for that. I know it's not that serious, but I NEED VTLL to turn out how I envisioned it HAHAHA.
OOOkey-dokey.
Lots of over-explaining and winding tangents, but I promise I haven't forgotten about VTLL. This fic lives in my head rent-free 24/7/365🧍🏻♀️
I actually can't wait to finish all of seasons 7+8 so I can do big, big edits. My cousin gave me the great idea that I'm hoping to do on ao3, and I'm looking forward to it. I also haven't really read volumes 1 and 2 in a hot minute, so... I should do that for the sake of plot continuity. Future Steph will fix it all 🙈
Sending love right back! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday/weekend <333
🕯️May 3rd | Chapter 46 🕯️
It's in my docs as Chapter Forty-Six: As the World Caves In, and it's the first chunk of season 7, episode 9. I decided to split the latter part of the episode into Chapter 47. One of my biggest obstacles has been figuring out Earth's politics. VLD canon wasn't enough for me. I still don't have it all figured out, but it's gotta come to me eventually.
Ok so we will be having a COTT March (I love those guys) and then some April Fools in late April....can I dare hope that we will be seeing some Georgie and/or Robbie too in the near future? (Forever and Always in Tandem (FAIT) maybe?) I'm honestly dying to hear about the modernists Taylor!!
You're pretty dead on. With the biggest of caveats one must give, especially when they're me, here's what the rest of the year is looking like.
It's the Official Schedule as of very recently, since I had to re-jig the whole thing to cram in 16 physio sessions, and I want to be transparent with you guys because it is different from what I initially planned, particularly that I lowered my minimum writing goal to 200k, about an 10% decrease, with all other writing goals reflecting that, and changed some timelines as well.
So, here's what's happening in 2025:
Previously, in 2025:
Jan - Wrapping SAIT, Big Annual Planning that lasts One Month.
Feb - Was supposed to be a get ahead month, but I dealt with a lot of healthcare stuff in Jan and Feb, including some time consuming testing. Add in the whole 'my country's sovereignty is apparently now in question' (I cannot overstate, to those who aren't in Canada, that everything I have seen and heard in recent weeks has strongly indicated that the relationship America has had with Canada is now over. We did our mourning and lamenting over the last few months, mostly amongst ourselves -- though great fucking timing with that international tourney, NHL -- and now it's the clear-eyed stone-faced acceptance of reality, unhinged as it is. Glad to see Europe seems to be doing the same.)
Ahem, sorry, there's been some processing going on for me this year, but processing is hard given that we're living in the stupidest fucking dystopia (Red-White-and-Blueland. I can't. This motherfucker. I can't.) and any attempts to get ahead have just lead to treading water. Thus the big re-jig that follows below.
What's still yet to come, 2025:
Mar - That's now! More healthcare stuff this month (fuck long COVID, seriously), including physio, but also trying to ACTUALLY get ahead now that I've lowered some of my expectations for this year (aiming for around 40-ish rather than 50-ish AO3 updates in 2025 is massive, workload wise) and doing a lot of the groundwork for Kickstarter, ie: setting up the campaign, financial work, etc.
April - I hopefully graduate from physio plus the real run up to my April Fools, which will be in late April and carry through to late May. We've got ourselves a Taurus. (Two, actually!)
May - main Kickstarter month! That will be like 75% of my job, the other 25% making sure everything else comes out on time.
June-July: These are head down writing months. With little to no hockey (early June has the SCF, and if my team's in them this is all null and void but that is...exceedingly unlikely this year), my schedule's wide open and I'm going to be working to get ahead on, well -- everything.
This is also when I plan on beginning to post the third part of the Tandem (which does have a title, though I figure I'll give it a better announcement than in the middle of an impromptu calendar).
Aug - I'm taking a week off at the start to do absolutely nothing, and then I'm making sure I've sorted out all my bits and bobs before I fly to England for my cousin's wedding (to a Brit, thus the locale). I've never been, so I've turned it into a proper little sightseeing trip as well.
September - I'm still in England (there 2 weeks total), as I'm spending a week by the sea for an Official Writing Trip. There will be scribbling in notebooks in cafes and drizzly walks along the shore and it won't be the right ocean but I don't think Gabe and Stephen would mind me starting it there.
Then I come home and do more writing, but the kind that doesn't look as cool in a montage.
This is when the Kickstarter extras will begin to go out, along with the beginning of the progress updates.
Oct-Dec: My season status quo, with the usual half work in December, while I make time for family and attempt to wrap as many in progress things as possible.
Basically, on AO3:
Jan - SAIT
Feb, Mar, Apr, May - COTT
June-Dec: COTT and ( )AIT, generally alternating 1-2-1-2, with the usual exceptions.
Kickstarter specific:
Now to Late April - prep, setup, promo, etc
Apr-May: Kickstarter Campaign
June/July: get started on admin, logistics, and begin work on the extras
Aug: Extras begin
Sep: Heads down work on the Kickstarter project (currently titled AF), continuing through remainder of 2025 and into 2026
