Hundreds of Muslim girls being forced to accept Hinduism in India

According to the reports out of Indian Media, hundreds of Muslims are being forced to convert to Hinduism in Uttar Pradesh. An alarming number of Muslim girls are being abducted and forced to accept Hinduism as a religion by the BJP MP Yogi Adityanath’s Hindu Yuva Vahini.

One such incident happened with Ameesha Thakhur, who was forced to deject Islam, before enforcing marriage with Hindu husband, Arvind. Ameesha was abducted when she was just 13, went by the name of Zubeida Khatoon, and was married in the house next door.

“They made a public announcement in the panchayat that they will make her a Hindu. Now she is living like one, how can we accept this?” revealed her uncle Abdullah.

Zubeida is not the only victim of forced abduction and marriages, or it is not the story of handful Muslims.; majority of the rural Indian areas with influential ‘Thakurs’ are kidnapping girls and coercing them to adopt Hindu ways.

Just between 2014 and October 2016, 389 cases of juvenile girls missing or kidnapped were listed by the district police. The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) on Kushinagar in its fact finding report stated that there were dozens of rapes and forced religious conversions of Muslims.

The report, submitted to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in January 2016 blames `local goons of HYV’ for the atrocities against girls.
