Easily one of the more mysterious Industrial albums ever made, I am still deeply haunted by the 1984 release I. And I see it as one of the great masterpieces of both the Italian Lo-Fi scene and Industrial as a whole. Track IV is not chosen for any particular reason other than to illustrate a very special quality I hear in this music. As someone who greatly enjoys and tries to catalog the strange, brief culture of Italian Lo-Fi/Synth industrial, I have heard my fare share of cheap dungeon sounds and whaling ladies that scream in a manner that holds the usual double entendre, so when I first heard this album I was amazed: In the familiar structure of ritualism, Ain-Soph crated something that feels very real, very immediate. It is not contained by the easy excuse of alien rituals or fanciful romanticism, in I you have a deceptively simple work that is under the weight of a very real past, and troubled present.
There is something subtle in the albums somber meditation, an eeriness that exists somewhere in that soft distortion that is ever-present behind the muffled instrumentation and distant half-vocals. I've only experienced this strange feeling of quiet disquieting in the late moments of the Nurse With Wound album Salt Marie Celeste, but that album does not have the same kind of completeness, it did not hold the same singular form in its sound. I find that special quality a kind of sound that perfectly encapsulates my own personal definition of darkness, of black. The resonance is something very special to me, something that I have an extreme difficulty putting to words without simply sounding as if I am babbling. But that is what this simple track does to me, its simplicity transcends its form and brings image to sound.
2013 is the year that I have been dj'ing at parties for 10 years. To celebrate this I poured all my experience and love for this music in a special 2 hour mix. I can't put into words how much this music has changed my life, but I hope to spread these sounds even further and allow others to find this hidden place too. A big thank you to all the suomi saundii artists, label owners and party people, and a special thank you to Pavel and Huopis from Trance Bum productions and Freakdance Records for giving me the opportunity to DJ for them! The abyss welcomed their arrival
The shards fell and the abyss welcomed their arrival.
The light in the broken KELIM contains the original structure, the PARTZUFIM forgotten and asleep in the deepths.
In the deep this blueprint of forces unimagined can expand beyond it’s own borders.
The Sefirot in the shape described by most scholars today represent the second attempt of Ain-Soph to manifest within the causal realms.
The original blueprint of Sefirot (Kelipot) dwells in the great Tohu and blossoms exponentially synchronized with the shifting of the equinoxes.
