A closer look at our pairs paint which received runner up place. We didn't know the theme until an hour before and came up with this on the spot for the theme 'reach for the stars'. Together with artist Kellie Driscoll, we came up with the idea of a jules Verne inspired steampunk space 'traveller' becoming at one with the universe. I painted Sarah as the space traveller, and Kellie painted cat as the galaxy, with the grey face to be a more feminine version of the classic jules Verne face in the moon. Super proud of how quickly our ideas for this developed. I especially love how well the space helmet turned out on my space traveller - I was unsure if it would work but thankfully it did and was my favourite part of my side of the design!
