Tedeschi- Urban Aussie meaning: I just scared the crap out of myself!
While I was in LA being all “oh, my series is in a festival over here, and I mean more than I say I do”… I had the pleasure of meeting a wicked arse film maker by the human name of Enzo Tedeschi! For those of you who don’t know this person, he’s the guy who made that wicked film The Tunnel.
Now! I have been saying for a while that we need to find a way to bring reality tv to our filmmaking, as we audience members seem to eat up the feeling of being involved in another humans personal life. There is something special about feeling as though you are privy to their private life. *Please note: I did not say “private time” there is a difference. #AwkardFace. *
Recently I watched The Tunnel by Mr Tedeschi and nearly shat my freakin pants guys!!! It was like a roller coaster of sweet-baby-jesus-please-make-it-stop-and-yet-keep-going-I-like-it. He made a freakin film that is following the freakin tale of a freakin fictional journalistic crew who freakin go into freakin scary tunnels that are freakin abandoned under the Sydney CBD. Can you see how much it’s affected me yet?
As you watch you actually feel like you’re in the creepy tunnels with the team, this is achieved by the way it’s shot and the amazing performances done in interview style, with a Blair Witch meets surveillance footage touch! There is story line and tension and incredible set design. You’re left wondering, what the holly fudge was down there people?!?! WHAT?
Has anyone seen Airlock yet? Or what about ummmm Event Zero?
Ok well sort your lives out and see them! Yes, I am a little bias for Airlock as it turns out a lot of my fellow actor friends are in said series, but in my defense I didn’t know when I was first introduced.
Airlock has the typical story line of a sci-fi world, where we are projected into space living on spacecraft’s and trying to stay alive. #WooHooRight
Only difference in this series is you start to question more about what sent us out there, and what-the-hell-is-happening-to-the-people-on-the-new-ship-that-these-other-guys-come-into-contact-with-from-this-first-ship-through-the-airlock-thingo, ya get me?
Event Zero… I will not spoil that one, all I will say is… I watched it, and didn’t sleep well after. It made me so paranoid. Hahahaha
I couldn’t keep watching, A Night Of Horror Volume 1, cause I’m a pussy!
So through my paranoid fog of awe created by the one and only Enzo Tedeschi I found his common thread to be; we people must learn to question, instead of being spoon fed what is told to us by officials. I already question these men as it stands; now, I question my newspaper delivery guy too (poor kid). Enjoy the viewing, and make sure you have the curtains drawn, with a person to hold you hand.
Please note: Enzo gives his thanks to all involved on his projects. He is a true collaborator and believes he does not singularly hold title to his work. Ummm SWOON!
A Night Of Horror V1: will be released later this year.
Event Zero season 1: TBC
Airlock: Available on the website, or on the SyFy channel in Aus.
