@airynothing
But I love your vampires and consent issues! (I also love the everloving fuck out of the HP fusion, damn!)
Haha, thanks. I was reading the fusion last week, then rereading all the bits in chapter 3 I’ve written, and I’d started thinking about what was missing and how to get it back in shape (one of my big problems was Moriarty, and I feel like I have a bit of a better handle on him now). Then everything in my mind got real shitty again and I’ve been distracted.
Vampires and consent issues are, weirdly, my happy space. That’s what I think about when I’m trying to sleep at night.
five nights at freddys is the scariest game to ever game. definitely not for little kids
Had so much fun seeing creaturebatch with airynothing tonight! Hooray for local fanfolk!
Also, I forget sometimes that Benedict Cumberbatch can really fucking act. Holy jesus.

Damn, now *I* want to know why correlation is a dot product :)
Ha, well, here you go:
Short answer: if you look at the definition of correlation, and the definition of a dot product, and you know enough math to understand both, you'll be like oh, dang, those look like the same thing.
The long answer involves treating each subject as an axis and your data as vectors in that n-dimensional space, where, say, one vector is <height1, height2, height3...> and another is <weight1, weight2, weight3...> and basically if the angle between the vectors is 0, they're perfectly correlated (and the correlation comes out to 1), a 180 angle comes out to a correlation of -1, and a 90 degree angle is a correlation of 0. It helps to graph it out yourself and probably to have someone who knows more math than me explaining it. :)
Who wrote Sherlock's part and who wrote John's partin your fanfic? It's incredible!
I did the goofy John part with the dumb jokes in it. The gut-wrenching, believable, canon-compliant and truly predictive Sherlock part is all loudest-subtext-in-television. I’m genuinely thrilled that we stumbled upon an idea for something that includes crazy person and tense play along with her analysis and predictions. It’s meta in a fiction bottle!
So glad you liked it, we’re really pleased with it. :D Though the tense is a bugger, omg. Writing in sustained future tense is really tough, believe it or not! We both had to keep going back and adjusting tenses. After a while with future tense, you naturally want to fall back into present, which is interesting. The future tense wasn’t designed for 12k words. But I like the effect of it!
And second person! Even our intrepid beta (airynothing) was afraid to dive into it at first. But it’s less chose-your-own-adventure than anyone thought, and we don’t think it reads as creepy.We hope you agree!
If you don’t know what this ask is about, it’s the fic me and loudest-subtext-in-television wrote and posted last night. You can see it here. Love to know what you think. It was the experiment of experiments.
