She carefully put the cup back down before she burned herself and smiled at her. Borrowing the notebook for a moment she scribbled back ‘Thanks’ as she wasn’t familiar with sign language.
Mai wasn’t too familiar with Nishimiya-san either, but she knew of the girl. Turning her gaze back to the rain crashing against the window she couldn’t help but sigh. It had started pouring about an hour earlier and now classes were out everyone was stuck at school, provided with tea and other warm beverages whilst they waited for their parents or guardians, but it was still a bummer.
‘I hope the weather lets up soon… My boss won’t be too happy if I show up late.’ She wrote, hoping to strike up a conversation. Much as she wasn’t used to writing to communicate, not actually using any social media at all, she did want to get to know more people aside from her classmates.
Nishimiya-san looked to be an interesting person and Mai felt like she could enjoy just sitting together quietly, writing.
