Aivie is an odd case to me,  I used to find her really forgettable and she was (and is) the definition of a middle-runner, but I do think she was treated way too harshly by the judges. If I could describe her portfolio, it would be very middling with 1 low and 1 high. Seriously, besides her final week, she never crossed the tresthold of the top 3, only really making either good or eeh. The one exception to that rule is obviously her glorious Alter Ego shot and the other one being her boring and blah dance shot, which I couldn’t even muster to say anything about. That’s the thing about her, I often forgot about her existence but then I look at her photos and go “wow, that is in fact a photo”. It can be good like her cat and underwater but it’ll be high up and I wouldn’t have much to say. She was frankly average on everything. Her walk was fine, her look was fine, her modeling was fine, everything about her was fine, only 2 cases did she ever break out of that box but she never seem to grow out of it. I wanted Aivie to do well but it was like watching a rock try to walk or paint drying, it’s too slow or impossible to see at all. Besides her 2 shots, there’s not much to say, although I would definitely have her in the top 6 instead of Blaise since I can at least say I prefer consistently ok to terrible for most of the competition than average for the rest. Aivie clearly had potential and talent but she seem to have limited herself away from that, only breaking out in a few key moments.

2. Aivie

Funny how the bottom 2 on my show ended up on my top 2, shows how weird the judging was this week. I adore the movement of the shot, especially since she was given a more dance-oriented shot. The original shot is beautiful, the shape of her arms creates a nice silhouette of her body and I really like the angst yet confidence in her face. As for her alter ego, it’s pretty much the same as her basic, thus why she didn’t end up getting my FCO, but I still really like it! She nailed the hair flip and again, she has a ton of confidence in her face. Aivie’s biggest issue to me was always looking confused or down in her shots and she finally nailed that aspect of that, even if it was too late. I was kinda sad that Aivie was eliminated, she was one of the weakest but I really liked her look and she was slowly improving. I would have eliminated Blaise here but Aivie’s elimination made sense.

6. Aivie

So funny enough, I had this in the top 3 but then I realize I mix up Aivie and Julian together, goes to show I’m fucking dumb I can be. See, Aivie is the one standing and you wouldn’t even notice that unless I told you. That’s my biggest problem with the shot. Aivie looks like a young school boy trying to take a photo but is too awkward to even try to. The unsure expression on her face and the tentative touch to Julian adds to the awkwardness of the shot. I can tell that she’s trying but it isn’t showing at all. Aivie failed horribly at this shoot and it’s semi shocking that she survived her bottom 2 this week, even if there was someone worse.

Aivie went for what Ann did but looks scared in the process. Not saying the shot is bad, no shot this week is horrible except my bottom spot but Aivie could’ve pushed it a bit more. I do like how protective she looks here, with her hugging the kitty very close to her and the vulnerable expression on her face could turn off a lot of people from her shot but I for one have grown on it. Yes, she does look scared but it gives the shot more of a dimension to me, plus the piercing eyes to the camera is nice. However, it’s mostly down here because it doesn’t follow the brief at all. She doesn’t look feisty at all, only scared and confused. Aivie had a good shot but if it was a different word, then it could be higher.

4. Aivie

Aivie looks like she’s drowning but fashionable. It’s the equivalent of Yoanna’s Underwater shot from C2 where she looks dead but happy at the same time. It’s obviously also a polarizing shot, I for one like both of these photos. Aivie’s pose is very basic and seems lifeless but she moved around the water well. Her pose tells a nice story, like Angela, it looks like she's falling rather than drowning, even if Angela executed it better. It’s simple but sweet, her body looks great and she spread her limbs out well enough so it doesn’t look tense like the other shots below. Her face could’ve been tweaked a bit. I do like the theatrical expression with her closed eyes and lifted head but it does look very pained. Even with that major flaw, I kinda dig it for how much she looks like she’s slowly dying and enjoying her last moments (the black water also adds to it, a lot of people don’t really like it, personally, I love it). Aivie started off pretty well.
