Angela Lehmann
Place: Winner
Average: 3.5
Even though the obvious winner was snubbed of her win, Angela was not a terrible winner whatsoever. It was clear that the judges were in love with her as soon as she walked in. Just check out the show where she got 3 FCOs back to back, even in strong (and weak) weeks, they always found a way to praise some of her worst (or best) shots. I did say it at the beginning but during the first half of the competition, she was quite underrated by the judges. Her underwater is quite pretty and although her runway was an absolute mess in the beginning of the cycle (check out her video shoot on the 2nd episode), she was able to pull off a decent phone ad. I do kinda like her dance shot but it is easy to admit that it is a pretty weak shot in comparison to the rest of the week and admittedly, one of her worst shots in retrospect. However, after her weak start, she was able to climb slowly up and up in improvement. While I did say that her cat beauty was one of my favorites from her, there are some flaws to it that ruin it for me (mainly her one eye not being fully closed). Still, it’s a great effort considering how much she struggled on set. After that, this is where my biggest issue for her would come along, the judges would start overhyping her to the extreme. Her FCO on the androgynous week still baffles me to this day, it makes no sense how she got the highest score from panel considering Janny’s outstanding performance that week. I could see how her Alter Ego got the FCO considering how the 2 strongest performance were given a B2 placement for no reason and I do love the shot itself, however, there were just better shots that week, you see the pattern yet? The swimwear week was fucking terrible but she got the FCO due to her professional behavior on set, even though Ina and Adela had far better shots. However, I will say that after her awful commercial, she started to really grow for me and I can finally see what the judges saw. Her glow in the dark is stellar as we saw a new side to her that wasn’t either confusion or blank. Her 2 finale shots may have not been my FCOs but they’re still great, especially her avant garde, which I now consider her personal best. She never got a FCO out of me though because as before mentioned, there was always someone else better that the judges overlooked or ignored. Adela, Ina, Aivie, Janny, even Blaise, all of them were much better contenders for a FCO over Angela who often I found forgettable or boring in the vast majority of her photos until the last 2 weeks when she stepped her ass up. Obviously, her improvement is admirable and she had a great personality but there were just stronger girls this cycle. It felt odd that Angela ended up with the win but at the same time, I understood it. The judges fell in love with her look and she had the perfect goose to swan story to them. I, however, never hated or loved her, I just forgot about her a lot whenever it came down to ranking. She’s not a bad winner per say at all, her vast improvement and her dedication to improving is one of the best arc of the cycles and I do think some circles of the internet have underrated her. I think if she wasn’t pushed to the finale, then it would’ve gone down easier for people but as for now, she was a ok winner, but a sour taste to end the cycle with.
(I want to add that Angela had no post work for me to choose from, only Adela and Ina had anything for me to pick from)

I was having trouble coming up with an opening statement for this passage so I’ll just simply say it, HOW THE FUCK DID ADELA NOT WIN THIS CYCLE? Seriously, compare her portfolio here to AsNTM C6, it’s amazing how different both of them are. I already talked about Adela’s journey in AsNTM but the short version of it would be: she started off well and then went off the rails in confidence and photo quality. Here however, she was just a superstar. Her photo quality was great! She was always in my top 3, with her lowest placement being a 2, so obviously she’s showing a lot of consistency in great quality photos. Her first few weeks were great. I adore her underwater shot for how different it was and she showed off her personality in the phone ad week (which again, I will touch on). She then started off her streak of FCOs with Adela’s stellar dance and sassy kitten beauty shot. Her alter ego was massively underrated by the judges as well, which got her unfairly thrown into the B2 with another stellar shot from that week. I will say that despite me placing it in the top 2, I find her swimwear shoot with the male models to be the worst shot out of her portfolio (not as bad as the headache ads). The commercial week was not great for her either, although I liked her performance, she did sound very nervous. However, she got her pace back with 2 back-to-back FCOs with her glow in the dark beauty and finale shots, all of which was on my top 10 best list. Adela just was the full package. She had an amazing walk and she was able to balance out her personality with a model attitude throughout all her shots. Now, to touch on said topic, Adela was very wacky in terms of personality and she was able to make the perfect balance with it. It’s a make or break for many people but Adela was the perfect balance of it. Some shots has so much personality and “swagger” to it (I hate saying that word) or she can tone it back in to make something more simple and unique. She was prepared for everything and proved that she could be a high fashion or commercial girl in the wimp of an eye. Her walk was also so fluid! She did have an issue with confidence but by the finale, she was nothing but the perfect beast for a win. It was a shame to see Adela get robbed of the win she deserved, she was one of the best models of the series and one of my best averages in my blog ever! It’s a shame to see her collapse during AsNTM but her PhNTM is one to remember as one of the best track records in any NTM!
(Again I am obsessed with this photoshoot she did last year)
Janilyn "Janny" Medina

Average: 4
Janny’s journey in PhNTM is basically Ina’s but with only one FCO and kinda declining at the end. I immediately loved Janny the second she walked into the show. Her being so open about being bisexual and her androgynous look made her stand out to the crowd and made her a very early favorite for me. She also surprised me throughout the competition. I expected her to be a terrible walker but lo and behold, she was great in that category, there was a subtle confidence to it and she added a lot of personality into it. I will say her commercial potential would be lacking, she was naturally very awkward and it could detach many people from her doing those type of jobs. However, she still did well in the commercial they did and showed that even though it doesn’t come naturally, she was good at commercial stuff. Her as a model in photo was also great! She nailed the second shoot, landing her a FCO from the judges (not from me), and although I found her dance shot very boring, she rebounded from that weak point to a amazing cat beauty and then finally landing a FCO out of me with her stellar androgynous shoot. After her FCO from me though, she seem to go down in quality. Not saying she did terrible, I still liked many of her shots. Her alter ego has grown on me because of how she went for it (and I find the mirror persona adorable now) but her swimwear had to be one of the worst shots of the cycle, it gives off an uncomfortable vibe to it and Janny herself struggled a lot. This would start off the judges constantly belittling her and putting her in the B2 until the final 4. I would only agree with 1 of the B2’s though. Her commercial was really cute and I loved her glow in the dark beauty, even if I listed it as one of the weakest. Overall, despite her declining performance, I would easily glide Janny to the top 3, she and Ina shown an amazing improvement arc and surprised me throughout their time in it. Plus, gay representative is nice sometimes and she was a great model to kick that off.
Blaise Marie Zuraek Buendia
Place: 5th Place
Average: 6.3
Frankly, I never got Blaise. The judges seem to love her but I just.. never got her look. She does a great androgynous look, like Janny but Janny was much more talented in my opinion. There was also the main issue that unlike Aivie, who was just always eeh, Blaise was terrible for most of her run. Now, she did have some highlights throughout her run. I can argue that her crowning achievement was her gorgeous androgynous shot, which would obviously be a great shoot for her due to her androgynous look. Plus, her dance shot has grown on me over time, it may be flawed but I can see how much she cared and committed to the case, which worked for her favor. However, the rest of her run was either eeh or plain bad. I realize that I very much overrated Blaise’s underwater shot, nowadays I would put it below Janny since despite me loving her face, her body is more flawed than I realize. Her second shoot was also a disaster, which comes my biggest problem with her, she has a look that can make or break a photo but she often looked old when it comes to breaking the photo. Her cat beauty was too tense for me, the alter egos were both bad even with or without the tanned up look (why did they even do that), and while her swimwear was nice, she still looked so befuddled and out of it. Her runway was also one of the worst of the group, it just never flowed for me and often came off as clumsy and heavy. Blaise making it to the top 5 alongside being saved by the judges due to “tying the scores” was a huge wtf moment for me. She clearly had some great moments but she never knew how to make her unique look shine on camera. I have to admire that she’s now a gaming content creator, gamer girls represent!
Aivie Mai Duelas Phan
Place: 6th Place
Average: 4.7
Aivie is an odd case to me, I used to find her really forgettable and she was (and is) the definition of a middle-runner, but I do think she was treated way too harshly by the judges. If I could describe her portfolio, it would be very middling with 1 low and 1 high. Seriously, besides her final week, she never crossed the tresthold of the top 3, only really making either good or eeh. The one exception to that rule is obviously her glorious Alter Ego shot and the other one being her boring and blah dance shot, which I couldn’t even muster to say anything about. That’s the thing about her, I often forgot about her existence but then I look at her photos and go “wow, that is in fact a photo”. It can be good like her cat and underwater but it’ll be high up and I wouldn’t have much to say. She was frankly average on everything. Her walk was fine, her look was fine, her modeling was fine, everything about her was fine, only 2 cases did she ever break out of that box but she never seem to grow out of it. I wanted Aivie to do well but it was like watching a rock try to walk or paint drying, it’s too slow or impossible to see at all. Besides her 2 shots, there’s not much to say, although I would definitely have her in the top 6 instead of Blaise since I can at least say I prefer consistently ok to terrible for most of the competition than average for the rest. Aivie clearly had potential and talent but she seem to have limited herself away from that, only breaking out in a few key moments.
Petche Ann "Ann" Vale Asilo
Place: 7th Place
Average: 7.8
Like Kim, Ann was one of the weakest girls of the group, although unlike Kim, there was some good qualities to her. For one, she showed a lot of improvement during her time in the show. Her runway got better and her confidence grew on camera. However, compared to how strong the cast was, Ann would obviously stand out as one of the weakest. Her 3 shots were horrible, the underwater shot felt uncomfortable and tense, the runway video shows her inexperience and inability to understand how to angle her face, and her dress was as tense as her first shot. However, she showed some signs of improvement with her stunning cat beauty shot. I was all for a huge improvement arc for Ann since her inexperience story could be a great arc. However, her elimination shot was as bad as her second shot, probably one of my least favorites from her. I though Ann did decent on set but considering how Angela was already being used for an improvement arc due to her inexperience like Ann. However, Angela was a likable narrator for the show, Ann was just forgettable. Ann was one of the weakest girls left in the competition and even with a great shot and signs of improvement, it didn’t make sense that she was raised to the top 7 over more worthy girls like Jan.
Kimberly "Kim" Naomi D. Valies
Place: 9th Place
Average: 9.25
Personally to me, ignoring Janelle as the first boot, Kim and Ann were one for the weakest girls of the cycle for me. I think it’s mostly due to their age and inexperience but both of them always came off as awkward or fearful in front of the camera. At least Ann had a standout moment though, Kim did not. Kim in photographs were not memorable nor good. Her underwater shot looked like an entirely different person, not in a good way though since she looks like she’s trying not to drown. Her second photoshoot could’ve been a good redemption arc but her unsure expression and weak body language ruined the shot (alongside her terrible video, funny enough, she claimed to have the best runway walk but I always saw her as one of the worst walkers). Her next 2 shots were improvements but they still were one of the weakest shots of the week. Her dance did not fit with the theme of the week whatsoever or even had any energy of it and while I did say I liked her cat beauty shot, in hindsight, it was as weak as Blaise’s shot due to how tense it all feels. I still do stand by it being one of Kim’s best shots though. Kim was a huge disappointment in the cast, she hyped up her walk only for it to be meh at best and a disaster at worse. Alongside that, her photo taking skills were not up to par either, she would be another easy choice as an early out.
