Aiwa HS-PX400 portable cassette player Japan 2000 (x)
Aiwa HS PX10 (1987)
Look what they took from us!
The Aiwa HD-S200 is essentially a mini VCR for sound, with a spectacular trick. It looks like a Walkman, works like a camcorder, and records like a pro.
And in 1995, it represented a promise the music industry spent the next decade sabotaging.
Released in 1995, the HD-S200 was a compact, battery-powered, professional-quality Digital Audio Tape recorder built for the road, the studio, or the stage. That mashup of Walkman ergonomics and camcorder mechanics isn't an accident: by then, Sony already owned a controlling stake in Aiwa and would fully absorb the company in 2002.
