Neumann U47 – Georg Neumann, distributed by Telefunken (1949)

This was the first microphone designed by Georg Neumann. It was also the most popular and professionally preferred studio mic of the era. I was looking at one of my old records and it said all vocals were recorded with a Neumann U47 so I looked it up. I know nothing about studio mics but it looks very cool!

i think it sucks that a/v isn’t tangible anymore like yeah it’s convenient that I have every song ever released at my fingertips but I miss rewinding cassettes and vcrs by hand and holding my CD player on my lap during long car rides just so to stop it from skipping. i miss tv static and having to blow dust out of video game cartridges and the way i used to physically interact with art and entertainment.
