After I finished watching A Dream Within A Dream (I liked it 👍) I’ve been re-watching A Journey to Love and WOW, obviously I remembered Liu Yuning bc he’s the ML of both dramas, but it’s big chunks of the supporting cast that also overlaps! I’m in Ep. 16 of my AJTL re-watch, but these are the ones I’ve caught so far:

Official Du (the Wu official dude that travels with the mission) in AJTL plays the FL’s dad, Song Yude, in ADWAD.

Zhang Song (Wu prime minister that poisons Ning Yuanzhou) in AJTL plays the emperor in ADWAD.

Empress Zhaojie (the late empress of An who mentored Ren Ruyi) in AJTL plays the ML’s mom in ADWAD

Rong Hua (2ML’s henchman) in ADWAD played a minor villain in the early episodes of AJTL (he’s the guy that tortured Ruyi’s friend, she kills him with a leaf)

Yunlong (strong and silent blue henchman for the ML) in ADWAD if im not mistaken played a teensy unimportant villain in the first ep of AJTL

Ying Qiu (the more sweet and credulous of the FL’s two maids) in ADWAD played the ML’s former fiancée, a lady official working for the empress in AJTL

In general, these were pretty minor supporting roles in AJTL (Official Du/Song Yude was in most of AJTL’s episodes but still definitely only a supporting character) but each of these actors got a larger role in ADWAD, the most dramatic of these probably being Gone In First Ep/Yunlong. Obviously productions having overlapping casts is dead common in cdramas, but it really looks like a big chunk of the ADWAD supporting cast was chosen from the supporting and background cast of AJTL. Just kind of neat!

I didn't realize this guy is tall too from watching AJTL, just thought the Princess in the drama was tiny; Liu Yuning is so tall everyone else looks short, i kept being surprised that coroner Feng is about a head taller than everyone here loll
