All but #4 for Sera, Iron Bull, and Varric :D
babe have I mentioned how much I love you?
SERA:
1) Even when Ash and Sera didn’t get along, Ash loved the idea of the Red Jennies. Causing chaos to noble shits who hurt people? EXCELLENT idea. Ash absolutely joins the Red Jennies. In my headcanon, she splits her time pretty evenly between the Jennies, the Chargers, Clan Lavellan, and Aurora’s templar clinic.
2) That would really depend on the point in their relationship. Near the beginning, she disliked the pranks because she and Sera didn’t get along so they mostly targeted her. But once they reached an understanding, BOY did she love the pranks. She was there for at least 75% of them.
3) Done!
5) See above. Ash tried to avoid her at the beginning because Sera tended to make fun of her for her beliefs and Ash didn’t understand why. Once they started getting along, though, Ash ADORED her tiny, bee-covered friend. By the time Trespasser comes around, she’s one of Ash’s best friends.
BULL:
1) Bull immediately told Ash he was a spy and never lied to her, so she was never suspicious of him. She’s done so many shitty and/or sneaky things that she doesn’t care when other people do it AS LONG as they’re honest about it. (cough Solas and Blackwall)
2) BOY OH BOY Ash a d o r e s the Chargers. She spends as much time with them as humanly/elvenly possible. They hang out in the Tavern a lot, but they also go on missions/training/ect together. Ash definitely made them all matching helmets with horns on them (even Dalish, who got a cowl with lightweight horns, a wink, and a “I know you’re not a mage but doesn’t this look pretty?”) If Bioware had given you a chance to join the Chargers, Ash would have in a heartbeat. But they don’t, so it’s in my headcanon.
3) Done!
5) Bull’s fighting wasn’t SUPER important to the Inquisition. Ash is a reaver, so she’s got that handled (and she’s a hell of a lot better against dragons.) But his presence as a friend was invaluable to her. She needed someone else who understood the need for action over words and who was a fan of chaos and fun. Plus, the Chargers are some of her best pals.
VARRIC:
1) Ash and Varric were nowhere near as close as Varric and Hawke. They got along pretty well and had fun together, but Ash preferred the company of Solas, Sera, Bull, Cole, and (of course, your Inquisitor) Aurora Trevelyan. Despite that, Ash was TOTALLY not okay with Bianca coming in to Varric’s life to fuck shit up and threatened her VERY severely. And then she wrote letters to Hawke complaining about it. She also tried to get Hawke/some of the others of the Kirkwall crew to visit as much as possible to see Varric.
2) Oops I didn’t know this question was about Bianca. See above. Ash, again, is not a fan of people lying about their mistakes so there’s another strike in the anti-Bianca column. She definitely thinks Varric could do better, and she doesn’t like the fact that he’s hurting.
3) Done!
5) Ash dragged Hawke out of the Fade so fast that the Nightmare was left confused. Stroud is the other option in my canon, and as nice as he seemed, Ash didn’t really? Care that much. She KNOWS Hawke, both from Varric’s stories and the time they hung out before Adamant. They got along ridiculously well, so when it came time to make that choice, she didn’t even think. Plus, she would never dream about hurting Varric like that. She never explained it to him, but he knew, and he’s always been grateful. Still not bffs, but they got along pretty damn well. Ash might have cried when she got his key to the city.
Thank you, vhenan. (kissy face emoji bc I’m on my laptop.)
for the Quizzie+Companions ask meme: Ash and number 3 for all companions?
!! thank you!
BLACKWALL:
Ash’s treatment of him didn’t change in my playthrough mainly because uh he didn’t like her and never gave me his personal quest. But she definitely would NOT have been happy because he lied to them all about it, and it was something important that they all needed to know.
SOLAS: done
Sera:
Oh my god, Ash feels so bad for Sera and it makes her completely understand why Sera has been so anti-elf. It gives Ash the chance to move past it and grow really close to Sera because they can commiserate about the shitty things that have happened to them. Now Ash leaves her door open for whenever Sera needs her and it’s a beautiful thing. The people they prank now don’t think so though.
Cole:
AH Ash adores Cole and made the choice to leave him more human (even though Solas is Not Happy) because he’s her small child and she wants him to be happy. The best way for her to make sure of that is to make him human. She definitely agrees with Varric that he needs to grow from the experience.
Bull:
Ash absolutely prefers violence when she’s working through her problems. Words hurt. They get along SUPER well there.
Vivienne: Done
Varric:
Ash likes Varric’s stories a LOT until he starts writing about her (and her joint AU pal Aurora). She does like that he can talk them out of situations when she can’t fight her way out, though
Dorian:
Ash has him go talk to him, but mainly because she wants Dorian to be able to close that door and not always wonder about it. However, when they get there and she learned about it, she’s fucking PISSED and tries to hit his father in the face, then spends the entire ride back to Skyhold explaining to Dorian that he deserves so much better. She’s queer af but her clan was always super chill, so she doesn’t really? Understand but she DOES know how much it would have sucked
Cassandra:
Ash didn’t really care either way. That’s too much templar-ness for her. But she did tell her that if she WAS redoing it, she needed to make it an organization to be proud of, not the corrupt thing that it is now. She knows it makes Cass happy to have that cause, though, so she eventually just tells her to go for it
these were v fun thank you!
