hello! i've always wondered but how stable are commissions as a form of income? (considering, after asking some artists)

If I’m being honest, it really isn’t stable. Commissions are not something that could be relied on for my monthly bills, they’re more like an extra that could help at the very least. I’m not really a popular artist myself so I don’t get commission orders every day or every month as much as I’d like it to be as I always barely make it monthly. That’s actually one of the main reasons I started commissioning ‘cause I’m poor as hell and I’d feel so lucky if I get one PER MONTH. :(
