Clear Paint Protection (aka clear bra)
The very first I came in contact with a paint protection film was about 7 years ago, at that time it was very hard to work with primarily installing. I remember my first job it was a #Lexus is300 it was a cold day somewhere like around the month of february, the customer did not have a garage or a covered carport for me to protect from the thin droplets of water the clouds were releasing…the liner the covers the adhesive on the film was made of paper so I got all wet with a soapy solution I was using so just to remove this liner it got very messy to a point that tiny pieces of paper were stuck on the film and was keeping me busy just clearing it from the film.
After all this tragedy I finally was able to lay the kit for the hood which it took me about 1 hour to make it stay and after getting all the soapy solution not knowing at that time that it was a wrong type of #solution to use when apply it.
Next a focused on the bumper which by the way on most cars are the hardest to install because all the curvatures and I think I spent about 4 hours on installing, at that time I used a steamer supposedly that would allow the film to be more stretchy but as I said in the beginning the manufacturers were fairly new just like my own experience installing this film I am saying this because if stretched to much it would leave wrinkled marks and they are easy to notice, but anyways just to do the hood, bumper, mirrors and fenders I invested about 9 hours…so so stressful day…ahhhggg but I had to finish it…the customer came out and said wow….I can even see it!!!
