well I had cartoon network as a child so actually I’ve always watched anime??? but then toonami went away and my brother started watching naruto and then I started watching naruto….and then a few years later some girls at church were talking about something called “Inuyasha” and I was like “wtf is that” so I found it on tv and set it to record and I even remember which episode was the first one I watched because I was like “whAT IS THIS THERE ARE GIANT BIRDS WITH PEOPLE TORSOS AND BOY WITH DOG EARS??? AND WOLF BOY HUH?? WHY DO THEY ALL LIKE THIS GIRL SO MUCH IS THAT A FLYING CAT/TIGER/SABERTOOTH/WHAT IS THAT? shrieking mushrooms?”while looking for inuyasha I came across the funimation channel in the low 900’s and saw yu yu hakusho which I remembered from toonami so I set that to record and then read the descriptions of shows on around the same time and discovered Fruits Basket which is what I count as my official start in anime

Fruits Basket and Inuyasha were my downfall

and I’ve never been able to get back up
