Comfortable silences that follow. Hands stained with pencil lead and black ink, light straw picnic baskets on bright green fields, lips stained red with strawberries and then lipstick. Stopping to watch a street musician and resting your head on someone’s shoulder with a contented sigh.

People watching from the backseat of a taxicab and lips curved with the ghost of a smirk. Bottles of red wine and picnic blankets spread on the grass of a city park at sunset. Cobbled streets and apartments with grated balconies, windows open to a midnight breeze and filtered laughs spilling out of them. Red silk dresses and slow kisses, long candles dripping with wax to mark time spent wisely. Dinners in dimly-lit restaurants, cloth napkins stained with dark red lipstick, and touching feet underneath the table without pulling away. The unwavering sincerity of an abundant life.
