While I get a good amount of feedback in tags that I treasure immensely (especially the "OUUUGH"s which seem to be the New Keysmash), when it comes to characters and not one-shot monster pics, it's more often for my writing rather than for my designs. I especially I don't get that many specifically praising my Sam (I get them, sure, but it feels like it's less often than I see other people's Sams getting, like, showered in all-caps adoration).
The fact that I couldn't seem to keep him super consistent until more recently certainly has nothing to do with that, ahaha ha... ...ha. ...
I honestly started huffing the copium that my Sam is... just sort of unremarkable, forgettable... and that that's a good thing, because that... kind of informs part of his characterization as someone struggling with the loneliness that comes with being dismissible, at best.
It's... projecting a bit (that IS Sam's job as a pseudo-player-surrogate, after all). But it does mean I treasure anyone having nice things to say about my Sam all the more!
